| 3c Lipo suggestions for Wraith please
I have a hand full of 2c lipo's but I just received my Holmes motors and would like to pick up a couple 3c's just to try now that I have a good motor/esc combo to use against a 3c. Currently running: - Stock gearing - Holmes Hobbies Crawl Master 35t - Holmes Hobbies Torq Master BR-XL water proof speed controller - Batt Forward mod - 7.4v 5000m 2c lipo - run most of the time - 11.1v 4000m 3c lipo - this was something I have from my slash that has been beat and ran many times. I tried it and big boost from the 2c.. reason I am looking at going 3c all together. New set up I am getting ready to install: - Upgrading to 32p gearing - I have 60t & 56t spurs and 12t thur 17t pinions to play with gearing. - Holmes Hobbies Crawl Master Pro 13t & - Torque Master Pro 21t - Holmes Hobbies Torq Master BR-XL water proof speed controller - Yes I did also get a long list of MIP drive lines and all the other common weak links I have read and seen. - Batt Forward mod QUESTION - So here is where I am needing help, I see after looking up 3c options I can get small packs also. I drop the MAH that coralates to run time (correct?). I guess I need suggestions from you crawlers that have more back ground to suggest a full size or small pack pro/cons and maybe some good batt packs I should be looking at....bang for the buck is key, nothing dirt cheap but if it has pro's to off set the price I am paying I am all ears. I am building a all around bash crawler I can enjoy with my son and buddy's even if I have a couple tweaks to make on the rig if the day foresees crawling or bashing. In advanced this forum is great and I have learned alot, I know the 1st reply is search....I did but I am looking for more directly related Wraith owner suggestions on 3c because the other threads I found the small packs make total sense for a full comp Crawler. Sorry for the long post....Thank you!! |

I order from hobby king. Pretty cheap, you can order from the us warehouse. I use 5000mAh ones, kind of big but I can shoehorn them in the front without removing and tube work.

It's a minor point, but you meant to say "3S" or "2S" S means series. ie) 2S is two cells in series. C means Capacity. ie) a 1000mAH pack with a 20C rating means that you can draw 20 x 1000mA or 20A from it (for a short time) without it doing bad things. |

I have a Dynamite 3S 4000mah battery and I have moved my battery holder under the hood and my battery still fits.

I use the sky lipo 5000mah 2S lipo's and they work awesome and have been great so far with minimal maintenance(balanced charge to 8.4v and go). when i can afford it i'm gonna grab two of those 3S linked above.

If you run smaller packs, put some weight in the tires. This will help with the crawling part. I run 5000 3s under the hood with no wheel weights and seems to work good but not as good as a smaller pack w/weights in the tires. 3s is faster than 2s. More voltage going to the motor. A higher C rating you can afford the better if you have a high amp draw motor.

The video you quoted is very good. I too highly recommend watching and listening. I can say without a doubt it helped me understand Lipos better than anything else I've ever read or watched... Quote:
