Default Which CVDs to pick?

Well, the title sums it up.

Originally, I was going to get a set of XVDs, but they have been on back order for quite some time now. I also seen on a different post that their XVDs broke, so now I'm reconsidering them.

Is there anything wrong with the Axial cvds? The only thing I can see is the joints getting clogged with debris, but you could easily cover the joints with heatshrink and seal them up, maybe, lol.

There are HR cvds as well, but I haven't heard much about them.

Opinions are greatly appreciated!

I've just bought some TopCad Heavy Duty CVD's, i havn't tried them out yet but they seem quite well made & they are only $20 a pair from AsiaTees.

the axial shafts are universals not cvd's. the axials are IMO the best on the market right now. MIP is supposed to have something coming on to the market as well. i have beat mine to death and they haven't broken yet.

I bought these, too. I've had them in my rig for a couple months now. So far, very pleased with them. I don't run silly power in my rig, but they've held up just fine. I run a 35T Novak Rockstar, and basically just crawl busted concrete all the time. I think one of my original lockers will crap out before these do. For $20 a set, even if they do break, I'll just get more....

i'd get axial uni's. they are plenty strong. not sure about the asia tee's. i have only seen one pair in action for about 15 minutes. sometimes its not worth the gamble when there is a product that many people have used and tested and it has proven to work. cheap prices=cheap metal and lower quality. axials are only $33.99

I just looked up the TopCad Heavy Duty CVD's at AsiaTees and I like the look of them. I might have to try them out for twenty bucks

Don't waste the money on anything but the Axials. There is such a little price difference that's it's pointless.

I agree with Harley. You may pay less but you get what you pay for.

I have/had the HR cvds, lasted for about 2 packs on 2s lipo and vxl. The stock dogbones hold up better.

It seems like the general consensus is to go for the Axial universals. I'm so glad I asked the question and thanks everyone for the input. I should ask more questions before spending money on things that just look pretty.

I had a set of Axial universals and after a good time crawling and abusing them i finally broke it. For a replacement i bought some RVP axles since there wasn't anything else available and they lasted like 3 days. Now i'm back to the universals and i'll never buy another axle again unless some of the known quality manufacturers come up with something substantially stronger than the universals

I have a Set of FLM CVD's in my Wraith.. Mine are just the initial test units he sent me, but they have been Rock solid for me. The website says they will cost $50. I think most FLM stuff comes with a Bend it of Break Warranty..
Saying this... I did pick up a set of Axial CVD's to have for spares mainly because they were cheaper.

Yes and everything else seems to be junk. LOLz My Axials are holding good and still look almost new. 3s lipo Titan 21T 14/56 gearing.

My Axial Uni's are holding up great.
My setup is like Natedogs. 21t Titan, 3s, BR-XL.
It's been thru many packs, and many hard landings.

My buddy's HR cvd's twisted off within 1 pack.
