It should be the best of both. Fingers crossed. It works in my head. Others have finished and ran their rigs and seem to like them. All I know is it's going to look wicked when I get on power and the rear squats, the front droops, and it starts eating everything in front of it. |
Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build Awesome build! Thinking outside the box is the only way to move forward and Keep up the Outstanding work"thumbsup"! Rob |

It is going to be very wicked. Getting set of paddle tires? Be very fun on the beach or even hill climbs as you cover whoever is behind it. :ror: |

Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build Messed around a bit tonight bracing the lower joint on the Exo graft. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...20619056_n.jpg It's from the Wraith and was the rear upper shock mount that ties into the Wraith frame behind the seats. I cut it down to tie into the Exo cage, but the Dremel battery died while I was working. When it's charged I'll drill the Wraith piece for 3mm screws and knock some thru-holes in the Exo piece. Once screwed together these two pieces will be in compression and will help reduce tensile stresses on the lower Wraith/Exo graft joint. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...15318608_n.jpg |

Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build Mina said "If you're going to build a scale vehicle, The Stig needs the rest of his legs." So I've been on the hunt for some legs that will work. Enter Terry Funk. He's going to give up his lower legs and boots so The Stig can have legs and driving shoes. I just hope he doesn't piss himself first. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...08121132_n.jpg |
Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build more more more |
Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build In a holding pattern right now. Waiting for parts from Tekin, STRC, Hot Racing, Castle Creations, Axial, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some others. |
Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build Got some STRC Exo parts in for the front end. Decided to go with gunmetal finish. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...64914145_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...33505554_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...87152004_n.jpg Haven't installed the front chassis brace and servo mounts yet. And the heart of the beast has arrived. Tekin RX8, 3300Kv Pro4, and Tekin Hotwire. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...98613180_n.jpg |

Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build Lookin' like a very clean build can't wait to see it get dirty :) |
Hey man, I gotta ask for a bash test on those exo strc parts. They seem to be the only one with any kind of hop ups out and I just bent a front hinge pin on my exo (full index finger into a concrete wall off a jump. Don't ask) and am gonna re do the front end. Keep us posted. Thx |
Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build Got the STRC steering rack and chassis brace on. Went with the gunmetal here again. I might swap out the carbon steering rack for the stock aluminum one or Axial's hard anodized rack. Will have to see how it handles abuse. Think the area where the toe links mount to the rack might be a weak point. I'll keep the stock steering rack in the field box. When I get the chassis reassembled I'll mark where I need to clearance the aluminum chassis brace and get that taken care of. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...87291457_n.jpg |
Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build Very awesome build JIA. Can't wait to see it running. |
