FWB2 sounded like an fun combo. Thanks C.H.U.D. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...%2Ad-24990.htm Well i did transform this A wraith is born, and some evolution With this, borrowed picture, mine is White. Picture linkt from the creator CHUD, hope its ok? , if not pm me for edit. First try, was to just "bolt on" try it. work kind of great, almost. Front. driveshaft issues, cut down the clock of the frontax, was a bit to much for servo and steering. -edit after cut down possible to drill/tap axel and clock it, but i dint want to set the drill in my alu-axel. So i i used my best friend, Superglue its always there for me! cut up axial uppers stock plastics superglue m3allthread. 7mm alu solid rods, rly cheap drill/tap, m3 grub, kit leftovers. also did a shockmod, -6mm flex, 6mm plastic rodendcap drilled to 4mm inside shock body. 10mm or so cut stock driveshaft. remounted shocks for more clearence Rear BOLT ON (a bit to shorty for my taste) 12" Remounted shocks for better travel and space same as front. Well that was easy and rly cheep, total transformation cost 1-2$. that was a chock, shaved off 800grams of chassie weight threw out them tire weights, 0weel weights, axial 8hole beadL. 140is grams per tire rtr. light crawler 0 tire weights, so fun combo, snippy roach. overall great improvement, silly to compare chassies, still only in research form. still some things to do. ... Hi again. Well i got some mail from the US with goodies in it. To start, if anyone can donate some SPACE that woud be great, it is crowded in here. Installed a few things to day. started with the Axial Dig kit for Wraith tranny. some space issues, easy solved with some kit leftovers. see picture how i needed to mount the servo arm on the outside of the rodend did also need to shave off 4mm on the servo mounts, started with 2.5mm as in the picture, 4 was needed. as you can see its a tight fit, 3mm less space woud have killed my plans for a dig. The dig arm actually hits the chassie. I did install a Hitec hs225mg mini servo 4.6kg torque i think you guys might have notice my hideous knuckle weights. well total cost 2-3$, built with only 8"grinder and my best friend superglue yepp they hold up for lots of abuse, still do. 96g each or almost 3oz Mounted Servo and custom servo/Lipo on axel plate, 2mm Alu Also on the crossbar were frontshocks normaly sits on this chassie, i mounted my Esc and Bec on a small lexan plate. you can also see my anti lawnmower lexan plate. Hell YES, my Tekin handwound 35t is here, 80/18 gears for 4.44/1 MAN o man, even at 4.44 gears its so much faster then my 45t think i have a rockhopper not a crawler, ridiculous how it launches it self when you gap upphill. 101% satisfied with 35t handwound. Thats for now, more to come. ....... Time again. Going kind of slow, atm on vacation. still some! progress. Did make some new uppers and installed the overdrive 36/14 front bevel set. new uppers for better geometry and some binding issues. going allthread m4 atm will cut solids later on , need to get all lenghts and clocks right first. did try a new plastic, "extruded polycarbonate" sweet, can be cold bent to 90* and rly durable. easy to work with. Did make an custom mounting point for the rear upperlinks of polycarbonate. rly strong and easy to grind down. this is a prototype, wanted to test out diff axel clocks and alignment of links. will make a new version that looks better after testing. did actuallt buy a set of bent links, planned to make my own, but the lenght of these 30*bent links was just so perfect. 31,75Cm/12,5" wheelbase on the spot. did make the upperrear links with allthread m4, will go 5mm Alu later traxxas revo ends m4. 36/14HD uppfront is a really sweet uppdate for your rig. 38/13HD rear (stock gearing atm, w8ing on underdriveset ) turns better and climbs better, can actually hear the difference. recommended! 31.75Cm/12.5" perfect lenght, stand rly nice a bit low, 2.5-2.7" belly height. 1-2 weeks w8ing on parts from US, after that i will try to finish up this build. new build on the way, ax10 Ar60-axel scaler. okay for casual driving for sure, i only compete with my friends. (honcho, dingos & wraiths) with this chassie, well.. they got left behind =) big time they just dont stand a chance. just look at shaving off 800g on chassie weight, that was just awesome. for my taste this uppdate did take me from a semi good/bad scaler crawler to a comp crawler. difference just amazing.... a bit boring for them but i always wanted a crawler. well atm planning for a scaler also =), perhaps they will stop crying then. uppdates is planned, im going for a scaler look, but pure performance comes first. Axial Dig, AR60 front overdrive, new links and new geometry and aiming for 12.5-13" isch, atm at 12" wheelbase

Subscribed, rated, read, and can't wait to see how this goes. I have this have this same plan with my ridgecrest but waiting on VP axles to be released then some how get a smaller than stock motor and ESC to fit in the chassis. So far it's awesome tho.

Dont VP axels from Wraith fit Ridgecrest, think they are the same, AR60 OCP. 60$ or so, in some places. rly nice cog boost! If you want small Esc, Tekin Fxr silly small and im more then happy with mine. smaller motor, many after market are a bit smaller then stock, i know that my Tekin is.

Nice work putting this together The wraith and ridgecrest use the same axle. The VP housing has been available for a while now Last edited by DickyT; 07-11-2012 at 08:09 PM.

| Re: FastWraithBack 2 Yeah I knew the housing had been out and while and I forsee me ending up with VP aluminum housings which is the next best thing since sliced bread but I was referring to the new 4340 VPVD's - the inner axle shafts.
