Default gottorque's MAAAAD wraith

I picked up my wraith from ooh epic fail about a month ago and since then ive figured out the ins and outs of wraith owning.

Current specs
RRP tranny gears
Vanquish lowers
Sidewinder and 45T motor on 54/13
TMaxx drive shafts
Aluminum big bores
2.2 TSLs on weighted Axial beadlocks

Right off the bat, I threw on the set of big bores i had ready to go. Stock shocks were too long with the shock cap mod and not very smooth. I threw in my electronics and painted the panels...yup fluorescent green

First run out...couldn't craw worth a dam with the motor or gearing, but it was hella fun in the sand

Sadly that old motor could only take so much Wraith abuse and i ended up killing it.

Round 2. In goes a 45T and its night and day crawling performance. Ultimately this rig will be set up for crawling and Ill be trying to keep the COG and weight down. Ill be getting a vanquish tie rod and some aluminum wheels when the plastics give out, but everything else is solid

Heres how it sits at the moment. Dont mind the really crappy stinger. I made it after i broke the bumper and one of the bumper supports just to have something there

I concur, gazillion build threads for the wraiths

Got it on the rocks today. Still cant believe how well it crawls compared to my 1.9 scaler

Also picked up a 3S battery and it really woke up that 45. Im impressed.

Happy autumn guys

Are those the RC4WD TSL's? Any issues mounting those?

Those TSL tires are made by Proline. They are sweet!

Ha! Plus they make your wraith that much more B.A.

Donner Pass crawling with a couple comp rigs Im not sure any of em had seen a Wraith in person before, but they couldnt get over how real it looked. Great group of people.

I took more pics, but ill just post a couple

and after its roof first fall into a snow drift. Poor driver lol

The other day i stripped out one of the wheel hexes and figured for this run i would run the 1.9 wheel and tire from my scaler, well i ran it for all of 15 minutes before i put on the 2.2. The hex sort of worked but i spent most of the time crawling in 3WD...that is until i put the 3S to it and blew out the right rear too.

Needless to say I left with a left wheel drive truck

Worked on my lights for a couple hours this evening. Re did all the wiring and got rid of the bad leds. Im using the stubby axial light buckets for the corner roof lights and led strips for the center light bar and rock lights. These are powered direct off the battery.

The wiring on the A pilliar will be covered with split loom and protect and keep it nice looking ( i hate wires all over the place )

Once I fix the front part of the chassis and get the bumper back on, ill get the front lights re mounted as well

My new motoworx wheels get here friday, but in the mean time ive been running it on dirt lots as there is not much you can do with a 2wd Wraith.

Finally got the new hardware on Friday. The envelope it was sent in got munched by the usps sorting machines and that was what the delay was. All the hardware was there though, so big thanks to Jake at motoworx

Waisted no time getting them mounted and had no problems with the TSl's beads. Total mounted weight for all 4 wheels and tires is 3lbs. Little heavy but then again its all down low

Went for a quick run by the river that afternoon. I changed out the springs while the truck was down and am running stock wraith springs and 50wt in the big bores. At right height its right about half travel, so nice and low

Took the truck out today and met up with some buddys to run Bud canyon, a hardcore 1:1 spot here in town. Lots of slick limestone, babyheads and more than enough hardcore lines to keep us all entertained

Awesome! Scalers on 1:1 trails are always a nice fit. Plus, no need for an expensive full size rig in the name of fun.
