I just finished putting together a exowraith just wondering now should i have gone with a 2 speed transmission instead of the wraith trans? missing the speed i had with the stock exo but i do like the low gear for crawling,i now have gone to a 23 pinion an a 87 spur an got some speed back an still able to crawl, running brushless with the sx proline swampers,i see others have gone with the 2 speed trans an would like to hear there opinions about it. |

Search in the Wraith section and the RC4WD section. Tons of reviews already there. People who have them seem to like them and say that they're durable to work well. People without them seem to say that they're just for BLING. A good ESC and Motor will give more speed than a Wraith can handle, still crawl, be lighter, and have less moving parts. Best money I spent was the ax2 transmission.

I have one in mine with a pro 4. It seems to hold the torque just fine. It really is overkill though with the pro 4. With it and 15/60 gearing it goes faster than a wraith should go. With independent front it may be better. The low gear definitely takes the load and temps off of the motor though. I can crawl all day and it will not even get warm.

Is it faster or is it just a lower 1st gear for crawling

Its way faster. If you want that feeling when you hit the throttle, the 2 speed is the ticket.

I just bought the 2 speed tranny. I tried my Tekin RS and 13.5 in it and it crawled ok with the 15/60 gearing. My big disappointment was the drag brake on the ESC was weak. Is the MMP better? Is the Pro 4 better for speed and crawling? I want a lil more torque or should I say low end. I'm used to 35T hand wounds. In this case, would a hand wound be better? We have the gearing. in high gear with the 13.5 I thought t did good, probably about 20-25mph?
