| Any good quality screw kits for the Wraith??
I want to replace all the screws with fine thread screws that are stronger. I have heard bad things about the RC Screwz quality and amount you get.....like not enough to do the job right! I do not know where in Canada to look. We don't have all the luxuries of screw places...lol. Even ordering online we can't get stuff shipped up here. So recommendations?? Help please. |

I've been getting mine from Creation Fab up until recently. He's raising his shipping costs to Canada and likely won't be such a good deal as before. So, my next shipment will likely be from Harley. Maybe we can split a shipment. |

Yeah I was using Creation Fab too but it will add up for an entire Wraith. Harley's stuff doesn't quite fit the job either, I don't think? I am not sure if the screws will be small enough for areas like in the diffs. His kits don't have flat head either?

Yeah, I hear you on the flat heads and the 2mm/2.6mm stuff. There's a place down here in Burnaby/Vancouver that sells S/S screws. They are in lots of 100 per size and I'll check to see the vendor's name (having a old-timers minute here). They work out to .10 ea IIRC...same as CreationFab. I'll PM you if I can remember or when I see the fellow who bought some there. |

| Re: Any good quality screw kits for the Wraith?? Are you sure?? His kit is a good deal but not all the screws to replace in the Wraith!! I don't need a zillion left overs!! Last edited by ZippoMan; 12-22-2012 at 08:52 PM. |

Because you'll use them eventually. If you've got the 'bug' like most of us do, you won't have just one wraith... Not to mention your other RC's. That, and it's an amazing deal!!!

I have a new Wraith I won as a prize and want to upgrade screws badly!! Harley's HD seems to be way too many screws for me. I doubt I would use them in a life time....lol. Plus they are not all the sizes I want. Ahhhh I know it is a great deal.....maybe I should jump on the wagon!! One of his kits shipped to Canada wil be $37.99USD still close to half the price MCMaster-Carr would want plus they don't ship to Canada. Dang you Harley!! I just might be throwing my money at ya!! LOL Oh a question for those who bought it. We have lots of 3x18mm screws on the Wraith so do you use the 16mm or go longer to 20mm?? I was thinking shorter will be okay? Anyone, anyone, anyone?? Yeah for me living in a tiny town in Canada, I have no LHS or any place really to shop. I don't have any other friends to share with here but I sure will have screws...lol.

I have bought probably 1000 screws over the years just for rc cars. When you progress past building stock vehicles and start doing custom stuff you will find yourself burning through screws. I just bought Harleys kit as its cheap for what you get and i know ill use every single one of them. One other thing to remember is that you can cut screws to the desired length so dont get hung up on having the exact length, or in some cases you can add a flat washer to take up space and it spreads the load out more. |

I have never had luck cutting screws!! They always end up jagged and with short 6mm long ones it is tricky. Is there a device that works best to cut them?

I have used good side cutters many times to cut stainless screws and then clean up the end with the dremel. Make sure the nut is on first, you unscrew it after the cut and it cleans up the threads
