ballistic 17.5 on 3s ?

ok so am new to crawling, actually new to the rc world. I start @ the begining of the summer with a stampede xl5, which i quickly learned was not for me, after spending some dough upgrading. So i decided to get a emaxx a month later as well. LOVED it, everything about it, it started as a 3905 and since has been upgraded with the mamba monster and all the other goodies so i could run it without breaking something every time i took it out. I still liked the truck but soon found the crawling world and had to get one. so i bought a Wraith after battling between the scx and wraith. I quickly upgrade it with all cheap stuff to see if i wanted to dump money into it. So yes i love it! and went out today to my LHS and bought a 17.5 ballistic(not the crawler one) my ? is whats good gearing to run with a mmp and 17.5 on 3's? I have serched but still dont understand the whole gearing aspect of the hobby. Hoping somebody can help.

56/14 is what I run 32p with mmp and pro4 3300kv =10t crawls good with good speed

also the wraith stock is 4:1 gear ratio 80t spur and 20t pinion just simple divition the motor spins 4 Times for every 1 turn of the drive shaft output then do the same thing for the gears in the diff

ok so how do i find a good medium for my motor

I also want to try 56/14 but am running a 4600 kV motor. I just dropped to 19pinion and can't even tell the difrence. Mines pretty darn fast on 3 cell. It flips over back words if I peg it on the carpet

honestly I'm no pro but there's a chart some where on this forum for converting to 32p gears but I'd do know where it is , look at it like this big spur /small pinion = better crawling ex.87/16 smaller spur / big pinion = more speed ex.80/20 that's 48p gears but same idea all motors are different and a good medium for you're motor isnt all ways good for you are you running 32p gears ?

like I said I run 3300kv and I can do back flips on wet pavement on 3s I like mine so far it crawls good takes off quick but top speed about 10- 14mph

yes i just picked up a 50t spur 13t pinion 32p, gonna play with that and take it from there since am gonna end up running 32p

ive got the same motor an a vxl esc im not a hard crawler more a basher i run stock spur an from 20-28 pinion on both 2s an 3s with good results motor temp an esc temp r resonable an havent had any probs yet i will b orderin some 32p gears soon though as i plan on playing in the mud.an yes the low throttle control is smoother than what i thought it would b
