Default My latest Wraith build

This started as an RTR but I've started a full rebuild. I only have one teaser shot at the moment. It's sitting high in the picture but will be lowered some. I'll have to limit the up travel on the shocks to keep the tires from catching on the flares since the Pit Bulls are so tall.

The DC body has kept me busy trying to get it to fit just right. It's fun to tinker with it though.

Looks real good! Can't wait to see it with some paint on it!

What wheels are those? Are they Mayhem "7"s??? They look killer with the Pit Bulls!

I did get the hood/grill painted tonight. Looks good. And yes, those are Mayhem 7's. They were given to me so I'm using them. I like the narrow offset they have. I didn't like how thick the rings were because they stuck out, so I put them on a lathe and machined them down a little. They're a nice wheel, but not scale enough for me. I'll be going with something black here soon. Can't make up my mind which wheel to get.

And thanks for the compliment.

How much taller are the Pit Bulls over the factoey tires? Sweet looking rig by the way.

I didn't measure but with foams I would say 1/2-3/4 inch taller than the RTR ripsaws.

After a little paint and lower ride height. I probably won't get to the rest of the paint until this weekend. I did the two tone hood with black on both inside and outside. I'll do the same with the flares.

I'm seeing the same problem with the RC4WD Iroks and the Proline Bronco body. Was thinking of trying some wider wheel hexes cause I really don't want to trim off the fender flares.

Alright, one more and done for the night, lol. Oh, and the wheels are Mayhem 7's.

I couldn't resist painting one side to see how it looked. I still have to paint the other side and rear. Then I'll paint the flares on the outside to match the hood.

I made a front electronics/battery box today. The servo does hit the box when compressing the suspension but does not touch it when articulating, so I'm not worried about it. It will never affect the way I use the wraith. Now I'll have room to neatly store everything in the front while somewhat protecting it. I have the option to put a top on it later if I choose. It was actually fun to make. This was my first experience working with styrene.

Thanks! It's got me wanting to experiment on other projects now. I was surprised how easy styrene was to work with. The bonding solvent makes it a no brainer. The only limit is your imagination.

Have never worked with styrene before as I am new to this hobby. That being said you did an excellent job and have motivated me to make a box for the front and a another for the rear.

Keep in mind that it was a little easier since I cut out the upper bumper mounts. Those supports would be in the way with how I built the box. I don't need them since I'm making an aluminum bumper.
