Default Axial Wraith front Lockers/Vanquish.

I have a Vanquish locker in the rear diff of my Wraith. performs perfect! No Slop!! Does anyone have or had a VP locker in the front Diff. Would there be steering problems ( servo resistance etc) replacing the front kit locker out with the VP locker since there will no longer be any play. I built my wraith from the kit so I have the AR60 OCP upgraded axles. thanks. simple question deserve simple answers.

The truck comes with a locked front, the VP just takes the slop out.

Huh??? You built the kit and I presume you installed the VP locker in the rear yourself.. And you put the kit locker in the front, so what don't you understand after having built the axles yourself???

Yes I built the kit and installed the VP locker. I understand that the front and rear diff's are locked.....with slop....I built them. I'm asking about no slop adding more resistance on the servo and components when turning (on hard surfaces etc) since there will be no slop at all on the front axles. Thanks for your input. Take care!

Now you're making a little more sense.

It really makes no difference. When you're under throttle the drivetrain tightens up anyway as long as the tires have traction. There is a proper procedure about tightening each set screw in the VP locker for the front axles though. I don't remember off hand what it is exactly as I don't run no slop lockers.

in this context slop is tire movement/rotation from loose fitting axles, also known as backlash, too much slop can damage the locker and/or axle. lockers with a tighter fit on the axle have less slop

It is also very easy to break the stock locker.
