Default lets have a budget motor thread.

all motors under 70 bucks.

ill start turnigy 2100kv sensorless. runs on 2-5 cell im runnig it with 14/56 32p gears and loving it on 2 cell goes slow, on 4 cell it goes fast and havent tested 5 cell yet(very soon). this motor is also a custom kinda install since it takes quite abit of work to get it mounted to wraith. its kinda built more for bashing and sand thrashing

what got me to thining this is because i see a ton of people running tekins some of these motors are 180 bucks. in my opion that is just alot of stinking money id only pay that for 90 size heli motor.

i see a ton of motors on hobby king maybe some of you guys are running them with good results maybe the results suck either wway lets hear about it.

my high power motor and esc combo cost about 100 bucks thats like pennies compared to most motor and esc's combos on this forumn.

lets hear it.

ohh if you have cheap esc lets hear about it to. im running the turnigy track star and loving it

Yes brushed motors only have 2 wires, a positive and a negative...red and black.
My 10 buck motor does just fine in my rig

the 3 wires on brushless motors are for positive,negative,control..
and if its sensored brushless motor it'll have a cable to plug in.

Is that a 550 motor?
I'm in the market for a upgrade motor in my Wraith, currently running cc 7700kv and 4600kv but getting way to hot.
How is the temps on that motor running 2s and more?
Sorry not topic related, but going out of my mind trying to get the right motor for my rig. its for FOFF by the way...

Thanx cheers

Don't know how it compares to a 550 motor.

Its producing literally no heat on 2-4 cell. In the sand on 4 cell I found it on the slow side with 14/56 gears. I think 5cell will be about right. I was shocked to see it specs as having 2250 watts. I'm thinking a may get some 2.8 sand paws and maybe try a 16 pinion. I'm really liking the motor but 2650-3000 kv would probly be awesome on 4 cell.
I'm may try this later on

I should be testing 5 cell this weekend.

Duratrax Element 3900kv 4-pole motor.
Basically a Castle sensorless system, rebranded.
It is over the $70 rule at $130, but that includes the speed controller. Which already came with a deans connector and was ready to run.
It is supposed to be for short course trucks as an economical replacement for stock electronics or brushed systems.
TowerHobbies.com | Duratrax 1/10 Element 3900kV Brushless System

Mine spent some time in my FOFF and then got moved to my Wraith.
Not real great for low speed stuff, but works great if you want to bash, crawl sand dunes, gravel piles, or chase the neighborhood dogs around.

OR, if tower get some more of these back in stock, at $120, this would be a great bashing combo.

130 isn't bad at all. The sv2 works well.

Well under the tekin price point.

I like power combos that don't cost as much as the wraith kit. The tekin stuff makes the wraith a 600 dollar ride and that's still not counting the servo and what seems to be mandatory up grades.

Good to know, but I personally don't want a setup that require more than 4s to get going. I would like to run between 3&4s

I'm running a 2 cell 2200 paired with a 3cell 2200.

No reason not to be flexible though I think the 2650 motor was a max of 4 cell.

thats what i have now, with original gearing on 2s. it does okay. not terribly fast. havnt noticed excessive heat. but ive been pretty rough on mine, lot off hard dirty off road use. the mud and water has started to take its toll.

35 turn HH TorqueMaster Expert 540

Holmes Hobbies LLC

Less than $50

Got one paired with a CC Sidewinder in my wifes Wraith geared 5:1 running 2S 5500 lipo's. You can drive that thing all day with no worries.
She drove it ,I've drove it, my buddies drove it and I've never had any problems out of it. It's a really good ,cheap combo.
