Default RTR Servo

Well my steering basically quit. Pulled the servo out of the car opened it up and started inspecting it. Noted the direction and placement of the gears once all were removed turned the wheel on controller and seemed like bind free steering either direction. Slowly added gears back and when I got to the servo horn the movement basically quit. Anyone know why the servo would be to weak to even turn the gears? Is it time for something new?

Well the stock servo is about worthless, mine failed after 10 mins of run time, need to upgrade to a high tourqe servo, spend a decent amount on it and you won't have to replace it again

IMO I'd go with a hitec 7950 , or even a 7954(metal) or 7955( titanium gear) anything around that, +\- $100 but well worth it I think.... I've owned all 3 And never had any issues, but ur also gonna need a ext BEC.

Picked up a hitec 645MG just to get me running again. Which I noticed a vast improvement over the RTR servo I do plan on upgrading to one of the stronger servos in due time. Just letting pocket book recover from the Vanquish order I placed.

Will look at those sort of wanting to replace tires and wheels (pitbull RB2s and some sort of beadlock thinking the trail ready looking ones) then upgrading to all metal gears throughout then going to a high end servo and either the pro4 3300 or ROC412.

I'm using this servo with awesome results. Can't go wrong for the price.
HXT 10kg Servo (metal gear) 55g / 10kg / .16sec (USA Warehouse)
I also use the servo in planes.

The servo in my wraith saw probly 3 hours of flight time before being installed its now probly seen a few hours run time on the wraith.

also check out ebay for used align ds610s or savox 1258mg these around 300oz pretty damn fast and can be under 50 bucks.
im running them on my nitro helicopter at 8.5 volts and there wicked fast and very strong.

i think the hitech is good but it has a folowing better then at actualy may be. theres quite a few servo choices well inside the 70 dollar range that are very good. it may be awesome but just cost to much at that price point il be putting it in 50 or 90 size heli

i still cant get over how well my hxt works
