Default Vp transmission housing problem.

Hi everybody.
I just mounted the Vanquish transmission housing without the dig unit in my Wraith. But then I got a problem with the Mip driveshaft to the rear axle being to short. I got all Robinson racing gearing in the transmission. Has anybody the same setup, and how did they solwe this problem??????

MIP makes a longer end that attaches to the trans out put. Might need two of them one for the trans end and one for the pinion end on the axle.

If you go on the MIP site and search around they have a section that gives dimensions on individual shaft pieces, and you can order them individually as well.

Wait, so the MIP shafts for the Wraith from RPP are too short? My one-piece RR lower gear is the same length as the stock outputs, so the MIPs won't work?

They are if you use a VP SCX trans case and use SCX outputs. But if you use the outputs from CI they should be good.

If you are running the stock Wraith trans housing, the shafts will be fine.

The problem lies in the VP housing, does not have the dig option extension. so its about 3/4" shorter than the wraith trans.

What he said. You could get the VP Hurtz DIG. Your standard length shafts would work with that and the VP housing. With either option, you'd have to get the AX10/SCX10 RR Diff gear to fit in the smaller housing.

I an going to try using parts from Traxxas Revo mip shaft to make the Wraith mip shaft longer. I hope that will work with the vanquish trans housing.

Clearly VP needs to make a Wraith/Ridgecrest Tranny case.
I don't want to have to go through this, seems like I am not alone.
Someday.......

I suggested just that to them last week. They've got a lot on their plate though...

Hot racing makes a full aluminum wraith transmission housing. I have one after stripping several mounting holes in the bottom of the plastic case set. I would have bought the VP case and dig but at the time VP wasn't using the thru hole drive shaft method and I hate the old set screw style. I emailed them awhile back about updating the outputs but never heard back if they changed them.

They do, you use the Ax trans and Vp Hurtz dig combo
