Default shaved and cut ripsaws

seems im the only one to mod my tires? after cutting the lugs it created a kinda paddle tire look and opend the tread up alot. testing on rocks and dirt the truck was instantly hooking up better.

then ive been getteing more into crawling latley the comp guys seem to mod there tires more then they mod there rigs and they all seemed to think a smoother side wall helped in the rocks so the tire could slide buy obsticales. i had also noticed some sidewall steer from the tires on big rocks.

somewhere i stumbled on a vid of sidewall shaveing useing a grinder with a flap disc. i happend to have those tools so my sidewalls are now shave. i shaved inside and out and they are now alot softer. maybe to shoft but man they hook on the rocks. it seems i can hold straigher lines through rock crevises and against walls to.

for some reason i cant get youtube to load so ill share the vid later.

im thinking i may no be ready for a dig since my tires are hanging on rocks like glue

I am getting of the mind I want smooth sidewalls. The traction I get with the sidewalls is often a negative effect on crawling. If I ever get enough extra $$ to try (cause I will likely screw a few tires up) I want to shave the sides of my ripsaws & rovers.
I really am not concerned much about looks, but performance enhancement is worth it.
Thanks for the vid!

I agree. But also think the look good shaved. If you take it easy and go slow no tires will be ruined.
These now perform way better then stock. Literly night and day. I'm doing lines now that were impassable with stock tire

I might get some Mudslingers so I can mod them. Think I'll also mod my 1:1 bloggers since I'm seeing how well a modded tire can work.

That's not my vid. Someone else deserves credit for it.

here's mine. Look way better. Just cut off the lugs with a lexan scissors, then a steady hand with a dremmel...
