| Novak 17.5 SS Pro (silver and purple can)
Gents, I have a 17.5 Novak SS Pro that I had in a touring car and wondered if it's worth putting in the Wraith. The Tenshock SC411 with the ESC I have is still acting up and I want to try something else. Setup would be Mamba Max Pro and 17.5 Novak SS Pro on 2S with 56/12 gearing. I re-read through the picking a motor thread and there were a few mentions about similar Tekin motors, but I don't know how those compare to the Novak. |

Run it. You may have to essential with the gearing just a bit to keep the temps down. That motor will do fine in a wraith. But be prepared to upgrade parts of the drivetrain if you havent already.

Get your gearing closer to or over 5:1 and run 3s. Worked well for me

It's 56/12 right now which is 4.67 I think I have a 58 spur I could throw on there. It's funny because the motor seems slow in the touring car, but I guess in the Wraith it could work. It's my son's truck so I think he'll be ok on 2s for now. 3s is reserved for dad |

Just slap an 11 tooth pinion on there and be done with it. You will more than likely need to play with the gearing a bit. Since everyone's rig is different the gearing that worked for one guy may not work for you. Just get a few different pinions and play with it. Then stick with whichever one runs the coolest.
