Default c0bra's wraith

like the title says, ive got a wraith...... again. in fact this is number 4 however the first 3 were gone within a month! hopefully this one will last longer, to be sure its already rtr.

this wraith i picked up used from the lhs for a great price, 2 weeks prior it was $20 more but had a $140 servo! unfortunately when i got it there was no servo, so i put a jr one in. unlike my previous wraiths, this one started as a kit and the previous owner put in a sidewinder esc, 20t motor (not sure what kind but it says epic on the end), full led kit, and they already painted the body and interior!

i have already taken it apart and fixed a few things. first off i put a zip tie between the battery wires coming out of the esc and the extension so the extension wouldnt come off. also i fixed the leds. the previous owner wired two 10mm leds in series with a rx plug, i cut the plug off and attached a 9v battery harness and a switch. the also had four 5mm leds wired to somekind of control board and to another rx plug. this one all i did was shorten the wires for the front leds.

any feedback from you guys/ girls would be great!

thanks. i took out the passenger seat and ran it for a few minutes indoors. the feel of the 4pl and r2104gf rx is MUCH better than a dx3c and sr300! so much that i may need at least 4 more rxs!

Looking good. This build should be just in time for the new VP Currie axles.

i picked up some alluminum from the hardware store this afternoon and tried to make my own roof panel.

i think it turned out pretty good, i decided to cover it with a parma carbon fiber decal.

im also going to hinge the hood. and eventually make side panels. i may try a hood, but i may just pick up one from carter fab.

Check out my vids on YT. Search "RCN - Wraith". I did the panels, roof and did the "fastback" mod. As for the good, I didn't attempt. Too many bends. Carter does make good stuff for the hood. Also saw a cool idea from Dinky RC

another update!
in between classes today i was able to run to the hardware store again and pick up some 1/4 inch cable mounts to use as a hood hinge. they are a little small but after using part of the wraith cage, pliers and a lighter they are fine.

almost jeep wrangler angle:

set the wraith in its roof to see how far it opens (using rustler wheel and tire to help keep the hood off the ground)

also while i had it apart i cut another piece of alluminum to make a rear tray.
with flex shot (rustler tire and passenger seat)

im thinking about doing the fast back cage mod with axial links but i couldnt find a definite size.

does anybody know what size link you need to go from the center bar to the back of the cage?

Not sure the size but stock wraith lower links fit, what ever they are.
