Default wraith aluminum or stock stearing links

So i've seen a lot of guys using the aluminum steering links and a lot using the stock plastic, and i've heard very little as to which is better. Does anyone out there use the aluminum, do you think they are worth upgrading to from the plastic? i've heard the plastic have a flex that you want for crawling.

The stock plastic is useless and about as rigid as a wet noodle. I tried making one out of steel all-thread and even that was too weak. I don't generally use or recommend VP links as I have found waaaay cheaper options that hold up great, but for the steering tie rod on a Wraith I say VP titanium all the way. There is no other option that I have found for the money or otherwise that is worth using.

That was the one i'm thinking of purchasing for an upgrade, as i'm pretty weak in the fabricating world. IMO i can't figure out why having the wet noodle flex on the steering link would be a good thing, but for some reason people prefer it...

i made my own out of 3/16 steel and it seems very stout. ive been beating it in the rocks and bashing at speed with no failures and steering is stay crisp and tight. cost me roughly 5 bucks in materials to make using revo rod ends

Well for a high speed basher it might be preferable if you have a cheap servo. It'll make the servo gears last longer by absorbing impacts and other such abuses that come with going fast. Other than that, it's the last thing you want on this type of truck.

This is very true in some situations. I've got Wraith axles on my FOFF rig and would constantly kill servos with aluminum steering links. I tossed on the stock plastic and haven't had a problem since.

For crawling metal is the way to go, for high speed, in some situations the plastic can be a day saver.

I'm running the strc steering links. Seem pretty stout so far and I have had some really stupid moments where I smacked a rock hard and I knew they were broke but it just scratched the anodizing

I have the same but they don't seem to fit right, what modification did you have to do.
