Default What servo????????????

I've been searching on this forum for a couple of hours. What Servo would you recommend for my Wraith, and i have the steering relocation kit from vanquish if that makes a difference. Looking for speed but more important torque. Thanks for the help in advance.

How many times is this servo question going to pop up? There are probably 50 threads or more on this site asking what Servo should I use. If you want the best buy a 7950 and be done.

1258 is only 170oz more for planes and helis. Its a great servo in its suited applications. Savox 1230 is more suited for crawlers 500oz

Decide on your batt. Power fIrst, then pick your servo the 7955 is good if your running up to 6v over that like a 2c lipo at 7.2v go with the 7954 at 403oz at 7.4v ,, youcan program the hitec's which is a nice feature, only used them when I was doing 3d flying, never tried the savox but I hear a lot of good about them

Currently using The BMS-35A High Voltage Coreless Digital Servo, here are the specs copied from the web page,

Specification:
Weight: 74 grams
Dimensions: 40.5 x 20 x 39 mm
Torque @ 6V: 29 kg/cm
Torque @ 7.4V: 35.5 kg/cm
Speed @ 6V: 0.17sec / 60 deg at no load
Speed @ 7.4V: 0.14sec / 60 deg at no load

Running it on 6v so its got about 29 kg, dont know what that works out to be in ounces but for $60 its a bargain.

Here is a link to the web page,

BMS-35A High Voltage (7.4V) Coreless Digital Servo w/Titanium Alloy Gear 35.5kg / .14sec / 74g

I have been using the Hitec HS-7954SH in my Wraith with no problems.
I am running it with a CC BEC at 7.4 volts.

You can find the 7954 for around $75.00 plus shipping.

you hear of people on this forumn burning up savox servos but the most common savox here seems to be the 1258 wich is not crawler servo. some who say they burened up a savox dont mention what model servo it what. maybe its a mini servo? beats the hell out of me. but im sure i can get hitech that is not up to the job of steering a wraith in the rocks

if you research in the air world savox has a very good reputation. also on the ground with the right savox for the job they seem to be a very very good servo. its these vague hitech 7950s are best and savox sucks that realy does just suck.

+1 on the Savox 1230G servo, it has plenty of torque and good speed for the wraith ! IMHO you cannot beat hitec for customer service, but if you are on a tight budget I would go with the Savox.

Thanks Scott

Just ordered my 7954 yesterday and can't wait to see how she does in my wraith. I'm hoping for the same performance you're getting in your wraith as well. The price is nearly $50 cheaper than the 7950 but at least I'll still have the superior customer service from HITEC.

I would recommend that you use a external BEC with it so it gets enough power and it is running at 7.4V. Mine has been working great for over a year and lots of hours on the trails.
