Default so i had the need for speed and tons of power

as some of you know my wraith is 6s capable and i have been running mainly 2 and 3s crawling latly well today i had the need for speed. had planned to build a huge step up jump on my dirt pile so i strapped on two 3s 2200s to creat a 6s 2200.

was going to get a vid but bashed around getting used to speed and power drag brake was turned of and main shes fast with the boggers the hook uop very well. itl coming out of slidding turn and punch the throttle and it flips over

offcourse i have no vid to share because i had the camera in my pocket to get ready for the jump. but before that the rear end stopped driving then the front end stopped. kinda dumbfounded because i have robinson metal gears in the tranny.
tore the tranny down and all is good there no slop no missing teeth nothing so i look at the axles. ring and pinion seem fine but it appears the locker is brokent or stripped.

whats funny is i bashed around on the front axle only and it also quite im assuming its also the locker.

im thinkinging this will be homebrewed fix. picturing a welded ring gear ust like my 1:1 rig
more to come when i look closer at the lockers

researching the vp locker or spool or whatevert you wana call it and it looks to be a pressed two peice unit. so the inner can absorb colinera movement.

just from the description im going with the hr one peice spool. vp put some big words in there to make a few sales and thats it

The vp lockers are the shit. I just installed them earlier this week. By far the best and strongest looking unit I've seen. And yes, it absorbs a ton of the movement.

Well I was won't be buying them hot racing is a one piece spool VP has inner and outer something or other and costs twice as much.

My hr lockers have held up just fine to a pro4 on 4s. I'll spend my extra money on something else vp for the wraith

Through research I see no reason why VP would be any better but cost twice as much.

HR lockers are great, just purchased 4 for 2 of my trucks and will be buying some more to throw in a couple other sets of axles I have on the bench.

they sure look like theyre tuff from the pictures i found on the net.

one single vp locker is a few bucks less then two hr's.
theres also a handfull of other lockers not mentioned often on this site that looking pretty dang good. cant think if there names now.

quick question.
im looking into upgradeing to max shafts because there suposebly stupid strong for the money. so far ive found the crawler inovation 5mm outputs but theyre 40 bucks. ive found some 1/8 to 5mm pinion adapter that might work. i coulda swore a few weeks ago the subject came up and someone posted a actual 4mm-5mm output adapter(maybe it was the 5mm-6mm for the max shafts?)
ive got a local traxxass dealer so it would be super hand and cheap to run some emaxx or t maxx shafts

thanks

Jeremy don't rain on these VP supporters. Anything besides vp's vvd's and lockers are amazing.

Maxx shafts with the 5mm yokes are nearly bolt on.. Just a little shaving of the yokes for clearance is needed.

the crawler innovations 5mm outputs are 46 bucks. max shafts yokes are 5mm with flat that needs drilled out. hmmm i wonder if i just drilled it to 4mm

http://www.crawlerinnovations.com/in...mart&Itemid=80

hmmmmmm say there bolt on but the shaft is 4mm vs 5mm. now wondering if 1mm even matters with the cross pin through it.

maybe they rubb the spur cover to im sure theyd self clearance or easily be fixed with dremel or grinder.

im going to pick the shafts and yokes up tommorrow and see what happends
