Default Wraith 32P upgrade

I have searched and searched for a list of parts one needs to change out the 48P gears for 32P gears on an ax10 tranny and an easy to understand how to thread that tells/ shows you how to do the swap. Can someone please help me out? Also it is my understanding that the 32P gears are more beefier than the 48P gears, is that right or did i misread something?

Thanks in advance,
Kenneth

Really all you need is a 32p spur and pinion. Everything is the same other than the gears. I bought some Duratrax spurs from RPP, Traxxas has some that work. Pay attention when you look at pinions, so that you get the correct shaft diameter.

Got some details on your rig? Have you looked through the motor/gearing sticky?

Didn't realize it was that simple. As far as my rig, I'm running a ae2, novak 55t/axial 27t, and 2s lipos. Anything else u need that I didn't put down?

48p is plenty strong for a setup like that.

You really only need 32p for when you go to brushless. I honestly feel that 48p is easier to set the mesh as well. 32p the teeth are so large that it's hard to use the "play" method to set the mesh.

Yeah 32P are really only needed when running brushless. I actually found it easier to adjust the meshing of the 32P gears using the "play" method. The 48P are so simple all that you need is a piece of plain paper to set the mesh. I guess both are not so bad to set.

With your combo I wouldn't bother converting either. I have 2 Wraiths, one brushless with 13.5T Redline motor for speed and the other has a 55T HH brushed motor for crawling. I changed the diff gears in the crawler for slower speeds.

I run 32p and i only have a 45t on 2s. I felt it was worth it to have that extra protection, and really its a cheap mod, so why not do it

I went completely overboard and bought a SuperShafty transmission with metal internals, VP aluminum case, and 32P spur and pinion. Just in case I decide to go brushless it's one less step out of the way.

I use Traxxas #3957 32p spur gear 56t and a robinson 11t 32p pinion. The spur needs to be slightly reamed out and it lines up pretty true. I think its worth the extra $8 on any setup.

Why start with a spur that doesn't fit?

We have pretty comparable power. I have a backup duratrax spur but if I have to use it I'll try a traxxas spur after that.
