I am building a wraith with pro 4. I need some help and advice on transmission options besides the stock one. If anyone can help that would be great.

Try the search function. This has been covered many, many times.

Searching through a handful of builds will give you a good idea of what's working for most.

| Re: Transmission Are you looking for a different single speed or are you looking for a 2 speed? A modded stock tranny will hold up to a pro4.

I would definitely buy the HR aluminum trans housing, get the Robinson Racing gears, whether 1 piece bottom gear or not, up to you. I like my one piece so far. Then switch the spur to 32P whatever flavor you like, metal or plastic. I like the plastic spur because it is quieter.

I'm really liking my RC4WD AX2 tranny. I have it in both of my wraiths with the Pro4 3300 and the RX8. Now my Bomb Proof single speed tranny is collecting dust... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

32 pitch gears, Robinson 3 piece lower and metal upper. Driveshafts should be high on your list Lockers (griplocks/VP) will be necassary Stock axle gears. Spiril cut gears mesh better and are stronger |

Well I haven't ran any of my new Pro4's yet but the plan is simple. HR aluminum case, RR steel internal gears or HR steel internal gears, supershafty top shaft to hold a 56T gen3 slipper 32p and run as 12-14t pinion depending on weight/terrain. Of course driveline upgrade to MIPs...never had any issues. Differentials I'd say upgrade when they break. Mine broke on my 11 pound KOH rig running Supershafty bombproof tranny after 5-6 4s 1000mah packs on a 10T Cobalt puller motor. So I'd say the stock diffs are decent no need to replace immediately. After that I'd recommend your suspension links. With that much torque and being caught in a tough spot you may easily break a rod end or plastic upper link depending on your setup. |

Thanks every one for all the help. I already have the transmission covered but was looking for drives shafts. Last edited by THX_138; 10-12-2014 at 09:37 PM. Reason: 15 seconds apart from each other |

Aluminum trans case, hotracing gears cause they replace all 3 and i have had the stock metal gear explode! Extended 6mm outputs if useing ax10 case. Mip ax10 drive shafts all the way! Just have to change to 6mm ball ends if using the 6mm outputs. Ck harleys hit&run thread!
