A few questions if I may... Are you running 2 or 3s, and have you had a chance to test the 60/12 gearing? Original or Gen 2 Redline?

I have not had a chance to really get out and use it yet because I think my programming is wrong it stalls out trying to climb a wall or my couch. I have a castle link on the way so I can check it out, it should not stall on anything with that gearing. And it is all new gear. I believe it is a gen 2 Redline. I will verify that.

Definitely sounds like something isn't right. You ought to be able to nail down the programming once you get the link. I actually have a similar setup on the way. I was contemplating the 13.5 on 2s or 17.5 on 3s and went with the 17.5. I'm actually looking forward to digging into the MMP setup. I'm pretty sure the ESC comes with a code for a free Castle Link so hopefully they get that to me quickly, but I think it only comes with the actual link and no cable so either way it'll be awhile before I figure out and have what I need (maybe I even have a USB cable from a phone or camera that uses the same plug). Let us know what you find. |

It is the same as most smart phone usb to mini cables. I may have to borrow my buddys link i am impatient.LOL. Or the guys at WVH said I could take it in to them but I would rather figure it out on my own. I will be adding a lot more info as soon as I have time. I hope to get some done today.

Starting off with the windshield strut mod. Pics should explain it all. If ya need any details hit me up. Pretty simple to do. Last edited by jhghah; 05-07-2013 at 02:35 PM. |

Here is my cage mod. The first pic shows it with the holes already drilled for the screw. I cut the cage as close to the rear sections as I possibly could to make the upper and lower section as long as possible. But it still needed a spacer as you will see. I very gently heated the pieces and bent them. Here you can see the screw in one side it is threaded in. And then the other side is drilled so it will just slide into place, the spacer also just slides over the screw. On the other end I used plastic model glue in the hole, I slipped the heatshrink over the sections and then shoved the screw into the glued end. While holding it all togeather I then shrank the shrink. It was a PITA. I wish I would have had the correct size delrin for the spacer so that it did not dip down where it is at. But I may redo it at some point when the heat shrink is all scraped off from rolling it. I am out of time for now. I will show my battery tray next, I have never seen another person do it like I have so be sure to tune in. Last edited by jhghah; 05-07-2013 at 02:45 PM. |

I think I might end up using this cage mod, I like the look of the fast back bunt no the look of the link bolted in. Looks great! |

I would say just make sure your spacer is the same size as the cage and you should be happy with it. The heatshrink I used has glue inside of it so when you shrink it it activates with the heat, and when it all setup the cage is as strong as before you started.

It's going to be tough to find an adhesive for those little struts that withstands rough tumbles and flops. Maybe there is something that will actually fuse that type of plastic together? The only thing I can think of is to drill and use threaded studs for a clean look, or a combination of good glue and something like the pins that attatch the drive shafts to the tranny outputs and pinion shafts.

what i did when i had my wraith cage and modded it was get some sewing neeedles and a pair of needle nose pliers, heat up the needle with a torch or lighter tell it its really and i mean really hot like red hot, then just shove it into the cage work you want to hold together, it melts the plastic out of the way as it goes in and as it cools it re bonds it together,,
