Default Steering Servo ??s

Ok, I know this has been talked about, and Ive got a headache from reading lol
I need a steering servo, Im trying to stay under $100 if possible, but have plenty of torque/power for a crawler.
Wondering if this one would be good: HS-7965MG Servo

Id like to get all metal gears for that price IF possible,
Thanks for any help

That servo is a bit weak. Check out a Savox SA1230SG

That servo would be terrible. You want titanium gears and 300+oz of torque. 7954, 7955, 7950 etc.

I'm running the savox 1231SG's on my wraith axles. 444oz/in at 6v turns the tires very easy. Usually $74.99 shipped on eBay. They are digital and are a bit noisy in a quiet room.

I'm looking at buying a savox 0231mg. It's still a 208oz servo and it's waterproof! And only $43 on ebay

You said $100, but the Hitec 7950 is on eBay right now for $109. It's well worth it.

Another option is a Solar D772. It did very well in my bench testing of it. Mine will be handling the rear steer of my wraith.

No, I have that servo and don't like it at all. It's probably only about 200 in-oz of torque. The one I have is also pretty flakey. For a budget build it may be worth it, but I had no luck at all with it and had to drop money on another servo.

For rear steer it should be ok, but for primary front steer it is not adequate in my opinion.

I've always run this servo. Right at $100 and over 400 oz on 7.4v. Still over 330 at 6.0V.

That's why both of our posts had under $100 options.

Be aware that savox's torque numbers are hold numbers, not stall numbers
