| 48 hour Wraith
With Axialfest this weekend and my parents deciding to join me for the weekend I decided my Dad needed something to drive. So I stopped at R/C Country and picked up an Axial Wraith for him to run in the Terra X race. Hopefully I can get it built before Thursday morning. Aww crud. BRB. I need to go get a star so I can post up some pics. There. Got my star. Motor -- Tekin ROC 412 2300KV ESC -- Tekin RS Pro or RS Gen2 (opinions?) Batteries -- 2500mah 3s Steering servo HS7954SH and depending on what ESC I end up using I may also have to add a CC 10A BEC MIP drive shafts Ti tie rod and drag link Stage one C hub, knuckle, and lockout kit. Ok, I'm on my mostest favoritest step in assembly. Shocks. YAY! There are 3 sets of pistons. A, B, and C. The instructions don't really say which one to use. Any hints? I was going to use B pistons unless there is a better way to go.

Shocks are done. I don't like Axial shocks very much. I believe a set of PL Powerstrokes are in my future.

Transmission is done. Robinson steel idler and aluminum output gear. I want to put dig in this thing as I like the Hurst dig in my Dingo. Anyone have any experience with the Axial dig unit? |

Did you get it done? You don't need a star to post pics if you host them somewhere else. You just need the star to host pics here on rcc Looks good. How do you like the 2300 roc12 ? |

I'll post some updated pics when I get home. It's running but I had to put a different radio in it that what I had intended to use. The Airtronics M11 receiver did not like being cooped up in the radio shack project box with the ESC and BEC. Intermittent glitching issues. The Futaba RX seems to be perfectly happy though. |

| Re: 48 hour Wraith It has loads of power and is plenty fast. I liked it enough that I ordered the 1800kv version to replace the 35T integy motor in my Dingo that I blew at Axialfest over the weekend. Just need to swap ESC's around from one of the other cars now.

Drove it around a little yesterday. Still need to do some tuning with the ESC/motor. Werid problem where it cogs when on its side and the steering is full lock. Shouldn't be browning out as I'm using a CC BEC for power. The red wire from the ESC is disconnected. I do have the ESC in sensored only mode and I need to switch that to dual mode. Dunno if that is the problem or what. I have another ROC 412 coming for my Dingo so maybe I'll swap motors and see if that makes any difference. One other thing that happened is the slipper came apart. Dunno if I just didn't get it tight the first time or what but with the power of this thing I decided to go 32P anyway. I ordered a 32P Robinson slipper from RPP so all I need now is the SuperShafty Beefy topshaft and some hardened pinions. Edit: Re-set the ESC to Dual Mode and that seemed to have done the trick. I thought the spare tire mod looked cool so here it is. It made the rear of the chassis a little flimsy IMO. So I might fab up a frame-shock brace/lowering bracket for the rear and lowering brackets for the front. Only thing left now is to paint the panels and get some line and a hook for the servo winch.
