Also conformal coated the mp3 player sitting there. and on the MMP and BEC Pro I conformal coated the boards first and then covered them in RTV silicone. Tied the front servo winch and the 3 racing rear winch into a Heyok HV winch controller on a switch. Making a servo winch with heyok controller and war pig spool: First drill out the servo horn screw hole to 7/32, you'll see why later, be carful not to drill all the way through, I went about a 3/8 inch deap, drill press makes this really easy, hand drill works too though. Pull the 4 screws on the bottom of the servo, slide the cases off, remember where all the ruber o-rings go inbetween the cases and the rubber washers for the screws, remember where there gears/pins go inside servo, unscrew the small phillips to the pot on the backside of the gear case. Then you will pull the pot from the gear case, then on the main gear( big gear) cut the pin on both sides flush. Now the main gear should spin freely, now using a m3x.06mod tap, thread the servo horn hole to fit the longer m3 screw needed for the war pig spool, It makes it real easy to thread it being able to spin the gear on the tap! now that everything in the servo winch is good mechanically, now time to strip the hitec electronics for the heyok controller. cut the ca glue holding the board to the case, carefully side the motor and board out the bottom, careful because they are soldered together. you must unsolder the board from the motor, then cut the rubber seal for the Rx wire leads off the board feed it onto the heyok winch controller wires, solder the wires to the motor, meshed the motor to the upper case gear, ca the motor in place, slap it all back together the way you took it apart and walla. iNTERiOR Electronics tray cut from styrene Wraith interior mounts to the wraith interior with threaded alum pipe Made a mount for the mp3 player I conformal coated for an in dash system. Used servo mounts on both sides to mount the New Bright JK dash to the chassis Some styrene fun Going to have blue backlighting in the dash The ribbon on the mp3 player screen wouldn't stretch so I had to make my own backlight The shifter works one of the buttons on the mp3 Axial dash logo Team36 seats Shane O'neill as my driver EXTERiOR Mickey Thompson Baja claws Mickey Thompson Sidebiter wheels Crawler Innovation 6.0 double deuce foams styrene back Reinforced for winch duty Viking fairlead mount Chopped up Dynamic Concepts Rubi body Painted the inside of the body silver cut the headlights out for real lights, markers will be transparent orange lenses outside painted white custom rear lights 3 racing diamond plate custom crusher corners you can see the winch switch behind the driver seat Last edited by WAFFLE; 08-08-2013 at 01:39 PM. |

Thanks man Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Quote:
That's great to hear, that was the hardest part, took the most time, lots of trial and error, I went through 4 mp3 players, almost gave up on the whole idea many times but kept grinding away, this project collected dust for a good year at one point. Im pumped to hear all these great things from you guys, makes it all worth the time and money spent. I plan to get some more pictures up, as well as some video crawling and video of the in dash system. Im still thinking about making speakers, but my only hold off is they wont be waterproof, and this rig loves the water, so Im trying to find a way to have them unplug easy and be removable, but sound good so its not completely useless and can jam on the trail runs, LOL!! | ||

Music makes everything better! What bout speakers from head phones (maybe they make ones waterproof for workout) idk but ear buds in a small box would be easy to remove and look scale!

| Re: Jeep JK TTC UPDATES: Getting the submarine, oh I mean crawler ready for tomorrows Crawlspace TTC! I kept stretching the rear servo mount so I welded a plate across the bottom. Made a winch point for my front axle to suck the front end down on steep grades. Its been monsoon'n in crawlrado, so we went out for a night crawl to test the waters! should be good for the TTC! Looks killer. Wish I had 4ws. 1 question though. Why would you replace a 5mm output with another 5mm output? With the Pro4 the SS 6mm outputs are your best friend.
