| My Wraith Is Here
Well, my new to me Wraith showed up today. I've wanted one of these for a while now, but worried it would just sit on a shelf like the other crawler I built. But I've been crawling a little recently, and really enjoying it a lot more than I did all those years ago. So here it is, my new to me Wraith. Got a really good deal IMO, so I couldn't say no. I'm going to trim up some of the bodywork (unsure on the boat sides just yet), and have a few things for it already. I have more stuff ordered, mainly electronics and drive line upgrades, and some of that is back ordered, but I will post up as I go along with the build. Came with a driver, luckily he knew how to put it back together out of the box What I have so far; Pro Line beadlocks I got in a trade Gmade 103mm piggybacks battery re-location kit hood hinge kit more on the way |

Looks awesome! Take your time building those piggybacks. I have them on my Wraith and they are great. They have been known to leak so build it up right!

Looks great with that paint scheme! Similar to my DARE body for the SCTE. Are you going to keep it that way or make a new body? |

Thanks guys! I'll be sure and take my time building the shocks. Not sure on the body yet to be honest, I kind of want to do my own thing, but at the same time I kind of like the look. But the body will be the last thing to get attention most likely either way.

Use some green slime on the o rings when you're building the shocks. That stuff works great!

| Re: My Wraith Is Here I honestly don't know yet, as it's the first BIA RX I've had. But I will let you know once I get everything running, and I've read reviews that claim great range, so we'll see.

Yeah, there's a few parts no doubt. Should go faster once the wiring / electronics are done though, but I'm in no big hurry, I enjoy the building almost more than running these days oddly enough.

I had a slower night tonight since I got side tracked with GTA V that showed up in the mail today. :hehe: Got all my soldering done and tested all but the shift servo Mounted the rear tray, the ESC, the RX box, and ran my wires Put the front of the cage back together and mounted my steering servo Went ahead and did my foams / tires / beadlocks so I didn't have to wait two hours once I was done building Well, back to GTA V, we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming |

Been at it this evening, got quite a bit done so far. Probably has a lot to do with the fact the Xbox isn't on. Got my hood marked, drilled, and hinge kit installed Took the trans apart, and gave it a good coat of Lucas red n tacky, and put locktite on all the bolts holding it together and the shift rod. Transmission is completely done now. I used a micro servo and flipped it upside down (per the trick in the AX2 thread) in order to retain the full interior. I also did a test run on the trans to make sure it all worked, and set my EPAs so as not to burn up the shift servo, before I install it all in the Wraith. Took a break from GTA and finished up my last two shocks. Think I'm done for the night, gotta go back to work in a bit, and I'm waiting on axle parts anyway, so no need to rush. Should be able to get close to if not done tomorrow night. |

Well apparently the USPS is holding my final package hostage, in another state, so I'm at a stand still. |

Well, I got a lot done over the weekend Have I mentioned, I hate building links? Oh well, time to get started anyway Making sure they're even And USPS got me my stuff after all. Locked up RC F1 spools Axial HD helical cut gears, and I chose to underdrive the rear, and leave the front stock Installed, more red n tacky Now we're getting somewhere Rear tray and cover hides everything nicely IT'S ALIVE!!! I still have a few little things to do, but I got to run it for the first time inside at least. The low range on the two speed along with the Holmes motor / ESC is an awesome combo. I have a couple more things coming and I think I'll be happy for at least week or two. |
