| Wraith slipper issues
Hey all, Before anyone jumps the gun on trying to flame me trust me I have searched and have come up with some half decent answers just wanted some other options to try and fix this. Problem: Wraith is ultra slow, I believe it to be the slipper pad to be causing the issue. Troubleshooting so far: 1. took apart transmission to ensure everything was proper in there. 2. made sure axles were proper as well 3. motor spins freely when in hand and when connected to transmission when no slipper nut installed 4. transmission spins freely with and with out motor attached and no slipper nut installed 5. have tried to have motor and transmission (spur gear) in contact with each other and the slipper pad installed with the nut tight and it binds up way too much and causes my wraith to be very slow. When I test the motor attached to the tranny with the slipper nut installed just tight enough so it allows slipper pad to engage it is fine. 6. Have tried adjusting settings to factory and it does not help 7. motor spins fine when not attached to the transmission under power I have also tried to use a different battery, different ESC and motor and all is the same. What could it be? Running Gear: HH BRXL novak 35t rockstar with maybe 15 short runs on it all metal transmission gears under and over drive gears in axles vanquish links strc axle components rc4wd MT sidebitter wheels rc4wd MT Baja MTZ tires Stock servo and arm 3s lipo 5200 MAH fully charged Thanks for all the help in advance. Gear mesh could way too tight, try setting it with a strip of paper between the pinion and spur. ~Chip |

I originally went with the RRP metal spur/slipper. Insane overkill. I've gone now to a Revo spec 0.8 spur and slipper. I did have to lathe the heat vanes on the back of the slippper pressure plate a little bit to get it to clear the tranny. The revo setup is many ounces lighter than the RRP monster and is quieter too. Toss all of the stock stuff in the garbage. J |

Keep in mind I use the Super Shafty top shaft. Stock input shaft won't work. Toss it too.

you know I had almost same problem, my wraith was running so slow too, but it also ran like if there was running with the drag brake at full or like if something was trying to break it. after tons of trouble shooting with no success I found the problem, I was tightening so strong the wheels nuts that caused to make the wheel and the rear lockers to make contact, the tightened it was the slower it rans, I found it "by mistake"; I was totally upset on this problem that I took the wheels off to put the wraith on a box and let it there for some time, then I saw a deep mark of grooves around the hex of the 8-hole beadlock wheels. a set of front hex hubs from traxxas stampede (bit larger than normal hubs) saved the day, now I can crank the wheel nuts all down and there is no friction on the wheel against the lockers. |

UPDATE: I have it fixed now re went through everything and its good now not sure what it was though. But the motor is what i beleive to be the issue now. I have broke it in via the water method when i got it. Issue i see now is that truck is underpowered, and will just stop in the middle of a run, when i put my finger on the spur gear and give it pressure it starts to turn freely. Everything i have read on it so far to me suggests a new motor is in order!!! Maybe i wont go with rockstar this time and i wi go with HH. Thanks for all the help
