| von Grimm's Grave Robber
I am using my boyfriend's login to share my project. It all started when he gave me a hand-me-down truck to use. It was fun and I wanted to design/build my own. I supervised the project and supplied him with a wish list of parts. And yes, I did make him give up some of the parts he was hoarding in man town. My demands and expectations were high; I wouldn't take no for an answer. He was a good sport about it, even when I asked him to fab diamond plate coffin floor mats. He did a great job; my truck is beautiful. Now that he's got the pics I am allowed to drive it. Super excited. Thanks for checking it out. Drail's "wifey" over-and-out Here's a list of parts: HPI: Grave Robber body (or what's left of it) Axial: Wraith cage (RPP salvage yard), HD ring and pinions F&R VP: Method 2.2 (I had to have these), rotors, 450 hubs, 8* C's and knuckles, chassis mounted servo and panhard RC4WD: Front axle, rear centered axle, Ballistic Fab axle covers F&R, inner fenders F&R, front center caps, 2 speed transmission with cover, and 2.2 Iroks (from my wish list) Holmes Hobbies: BLXR and Trailmaster sport 27 turn Gripfab: F&R lockers Crawler Innovations: Delrin high clearance links Losi: 4" shocks MIP: Shafts Hitec: 7955 and a mighty mini (2 speed shift servo) |

Did you do any of the build yourself or did your BF do all the work? This thing looks sweet either way and I don't know if I could bring myself to get it all scratched up.

Drail's "wifey" here... @stang killa ss Thanks! I'm sure Drail will be taking pics when we test and tune. @90Finder Thanks! Drail runs a center rear axle in his Wraith. He mocked it up with the stock axles, but I liked it better with the rear centered. Then he mocked it up with 4 different gear covers. I picked the Ballistic Fab. Then he added the 3 link panhard with the chassis mounted servo. I am planning on running it this weekend to see how it holds up. @gillbily23 Thanks! I did not run any of the "tools" for the build. We spent months mocking it up, with at least 2 variations of every component. Some may have noticed Drail unloading his RC stockpile to fund my build. I helped with templates for the coffins and a 5 point harness (that we decided not to use). Drail did a great job making my vision a reality. I've had my eye on the grave robber body for some time. We had started this project with my truck as a scale 1.9. I wanted a wider wheelbase so we decided to use the Wraith chassis and it took off from there. As far as scuffing up the body, we decided to that we would use these panels as templates the next time we decide to chop up a grave robber. @Drail Thanks for putting up with me being a pain in the ass about my build... Good thing you weren't paid by the hour; such a slave driver I am... Hahaha!!! |

Love it to death!!! No really, what a great idea and way to pull it off!!! How well do the rear wheels clear the body at full articulation? |
