| What size tools?
Just got myself a wraith and servo went out! Soooo i figured id take apart some other random things and strip the pain the previous owner had done on things like the knuckles. So far it seems the wheels are 7mm socket? and then 1.5 and 2mm allens for most of the rest of it. Any thing else i may need? Can anyone suggest a good rc tool set? |

I am finishing up the kit build, so far I have used: Hex drivers: 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5mm (I used a 2.0 power tip to partially assemble the cage) Nut drivers 7.0 (wheels and slipper), 5.5mm throughout, (5.0 only inside the shock) Tie rod wrench: 3.0mm (shock shafts) I bought a set of EDS Tools. So far I have been very happy. I had trouble ordering them in the US and ended up going with a place in Hong Kong. I had a good experience and pricing was good, I don't want to violate any forum rules so pm me if you want the name. |

Add and exacto knife, tweezers, small wire cutters, small needle nose pliers, a soldering iron(if you're unfamiliar how to solder, you should learn), and wire strippers. That will round out a really nice too kit |

Get a cheap drill and bit driver set from Harbor freight. Remember some of the aftermarket parts you buy will use standard hex heads. The harbor freight bit set has them all x2. Dremel is nice. 4.5" cutoff wheel. 3mm taps are my newest purchase and are really all you need to make custom parts.

| Just buy good stuff once rather than cheap stuff a couple times, allens are not an item you wanna go the cheapest route on. Get a good quality set of hex drivers and you will be happy with them and they will last you years.

I have really good success with integy hex driver set X22301, there ti-nitride coated, you can put the tips in a drill for faster use. They don't wear out fast like other driver tips, eflite, dubro, dynamite. basically comes with all the standard hex drivers: .050 1.5mm 2.5mm 1/16 (works on VP scale wheels micro hardware) 3/32 (fits 4-40 for vanquish wheels) 5/64 (same as 2mm) When the small ones break or wear, get lockedup.com cobalt driver tips, top notch tool steel! |
