| Wraith Lights
I'm new to this hobby and just purchased a rtr wraith poison spyder. I immediately added the 5 bucket light bar AX30709. I'm wondering how I power the lights? I would also like to add a couple more to the front grill, as it looks to have mounting places. If anyone can help me with what I need to purchase, I would appreciate it.

I use the Axial simple led kit AX24257 Which includes a white 4 led and a red 2 led lead. You would also need AX24256 which is a 5 led lead. Axial also sells a set of light cans AX80045 to mount to your front. Plugs in to your receiver by the way.

I found this pretty helpful when doing mine... led lighting and howto? Or you could buy them from axial ready to go. |

I used the simple led system and just replaced it with the axial nvs to add more lights. Super easy to install and works great.

I also have the ax24256 lights installed. I just didn't know what the lights plug into for power? The plug on the ax24256 is different than my receiver. I'm assuming I need a adapter?

Need to plug AX24256 in to AX24257 and then in to receiver.

I also have that same light bar I bought a ten pack of pre-wired LEDs on Ebay for $2.70 9V on/off switch 5 for 3.50 http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/...psc4009e93.jpg you can wrap the wires together then cover in electrical tape or you make them last longer by soldering them together. My opinion is that it is not worth the money for a fancy lighting system. save you cash for other performance enhancing upgrades. I think it much more fun to take the time and wire it all your self save cash and have a bigger sense of accomplishment. unless you want real working blinkers and brake lights then that's another story. I spent less than 15 dollars and have enough to do all my lights with a ton of left overs 100 pack of solid color LEDs $3-4 100 resistors $3 30 feet of wire $3.50 5 9v on/off switches $4 LEDS pre-wired cost a little more but already have resistors and wire installed to bulb Last edited by ChronicCrawler; 04-25-2014 at 01:32 PM. | |

The Axial 5-light string doesn't work with the simple LED controller (I found out the hard way after buying both). I ended up using the Integy GT Power complete LED kit for the 5-bucket set and leaving the Axial Simple LED kit in for the 4 headlights and tail lights since I had already installed them. If I were doing it again, I'd just get the GT Power kit for everything (might need to pick up a few extra single white strings if you wanted to go all white in front). The Gt Power kit is cheap (under $25).

New2rocks the 5 light string works with mine. But only on one output. The other output is for the red leds that use less voltage. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk |

| I tried the 5-light string in both slots with and without other strings connected and couldn't get it to work. GT Power kit is working great. The only downside is that the controller is bulky, but there's plenty of room in the back of the Wraith.

I did my own from LED's I got off ebay that were pre-wired..cost less than 15.00 and put them in the axial light bar and wraith buckets...all in all i have 16 LED's total...running off the rx...they are 12v LED's running on 3s (11.1) and very bright!

I would suggest using better quality LED's than Axial kits have. I use lighthouseled.com you can get them in all sorts of voltage, pre-wired with resistors for .50 each. I had them on my slash, running to a simple 9v battery box with an on-off switch, worked great and a 9v LED is very bright, easy to light the trail in front of you. If you can solder and have a little bit of tinkering in your mind, that's the way to go. But if you are not very crafty, then probably just the Axial simple LED controller or the NVS would be good for you.

When running the Axial simple led controller, can you run a BEC too? Would the spot on the RX where you would normally plug the BEC be taken by the led controller?
