Question Quick Wraith Gearing question

Building my Wraith kit, and fixing to start on the transmission build.

Using a CC MMP & HH 35 Turn Torquemaster Expert Pro.

Want to have a transmission ration better suited for crawling, so I know I need something in the 5.X:1 range. Also, going to go ahead and go with 32 Pitch gears.

Will a 10T pinion and 54 T spur be ok? (This will give me a ratio in the transmission of 5.4:1.

Any fitment issues? Will this size be o.k. for the motor? Don't want to burn anything up.

Thanks in advance

That should work fine but you should always check temps on new builds.

You will need a 1/8" to 5mm adapter to run a 32P spur with that motor. I am in the process of getting parts to convert my step fathers Wraith to 32P. I will be trying 60T spur and 14T pinion. It has the same HH 35T motor.

It bet that ratio runs very smooth. I run 56/14 and would like to step the pinion down to a 10 or twelve but my motor is touching the tray with the 14 a bigger spur will rub my driveline yoke.

But yes always check temps. Each and ever rig is direct and all drivers drive did rent so what works for me or Bob may not work for you.

No need for an adapter. Just buy an 1/8" 32p pinion.

Robinson and Axial both make pinions in 1/8 and 5mm down to 11 tooth in 32 pitch. I haven't seen any 5mm 10 tooth pinions anywhere.

Hot racing sells 5mm 32p pinions down to 8t but you have to cut down the length of the motor shaft since the gear is smaller than 5mm. I broke my normal 11t 5mm pinion since there is so little material at the bottom of the teath.

Huh, that's sweet that they make smaller pinions although cutting a motor shaft isn't high on my priority list. I haven't had any problems with my axial brand 11 tooth pinions in either 1/8 or 5mm flavor.

Funny, that looks exactly like the HR pinions.
