Default tell me why or why not please.....

building my front axel and want to know what to use for a locker. have the FI in the back and its working like a champ. was looking at the VP for the front. what good is it to have the set screws on the axel shafts????? thanks for the info and happy Labor day to all............

I would use an F.I. in the front too.
From my experience a locker with no set screws works better in the front.
If you use a set screw type make sure you use red thread lock the blue just doesn't hold.

F.I. spool is the only way to go in my opinion.
Now Im sure there will be twenty post on why VP is better, but that's ok. Not everyone can be right........like me.

The LURC FI spool is a great locker! I like VP locker because of the set screws. The set screws eliminate slop in the axles, but I'm also running VP VVD's in the front. They work well together.
If you're running stock front axles, or Axial CV's, the FI spool works a little better. Using the stock axles or Axial CV's, you can't really use the set screws on the VP lockers.

I'm a little bit of a VP fanboy, but the Locked Up RC FI spools are hard to beat for the price you pay for them!

Just my opinion...

Had a fit and finish problem with fi spool and rear shafts.

Gripfab spool worked better for me.

thanks for the input... my next ? i think i will go with the FI beings i have it in the rear and has worked great will the VP vvd slide threw the beef tubes i know i had to do some sanding to get my rear shafts to fit in the beef tubes. and same ? with axial CVs
