Default Shocks

What shocks are y'all using? Looking for a reasonable cost upgrade.

I prefer running drooped.

I just put a set of these in my Wraith as well. Theres two kinds; ones made to fit the rear of the SLASH, and ones for the front, which are shorter. The fronts are what I chose, and they were $80 for the full set of 4.

I use G-made Piggyback XDs 103mm. They're pretty good and offer functional reservoirs which is hard to find. $60 for a set of 4.

I run the gmade piggybacks along with gmade zeros on my 1.9 waiths and the zeros on my regular wraith...I love them! work just how I want them to...and so far, no leaks and I did not use green slime to build them.

Powerstroke rears all the way around here. Tried the powerstroke fronts but I didn't like em.

All of these are great choices. I have posted here previously but am just summing up the information,

G-Made XD Series PiggyBacks - Best Tunability - 103mm - $62 - set of 4 -Unassembled
Traxxas "Big Bores" - Best Value - 104.75mm - $63 - set of 8 - Assembled
Proline PowerStrokes - Most Versatile - 118mm or 98.5 - $92 - set of 4 - Assembled

All shocks are aluminum bodied.

I've never cared for the traxxas shocks because I don't understand why u would make aluminum shocks without having threaded shock bodies. Since I run droop setup I'll try em out.

Those with Gmade piggybacks. What springs are you running? I have sets of soft medium and heavy to tune with, just trying to get a starting place.

I use the medium springs. They aren't too hard but I like my shocks with light oil and medium to hard springs.

I'm going to run the 120mm Kings with a droop kit and internally spring the shocks down an inch. It'll bring the shocks to 4" in length.
flip my link mounts on the axle to lower also. This will give me 1" push and pull on my shocks. I believe this will allow pull to the rig when crawling. not sure on oil weight yet but i will start with 30wt.

Maybe I am behind the curve, but I like my Losi crawler shocks. Super smooth, and $40.00 for four.

Screw the curve, I'm running Associated on the Dingo and will probably end up with a set on the Wraith (12mm Big Bore maybe). Both companies have been building, testing and improving their shocks longer than Axial has been around. You may find some copies that perform well, but you won't find a better performing shock. They don't have the scale appearance the crawler shocks have, and that will factor in the buying decision with a lot of crawlers.
