| Where to mount ESC
Hey all; I've really enjoyed my wraith since completing it last winter. So much so I've invested in a new Mamba Max, sensored 3300 kv motor, and AX2 2 speed transmission. I'll post a few pics below, however I've mounted my battery adn all electronics up front in "da box" front tray. It all barely fits and the Mamba Max ESC is bigger than the stock axial. I'm also adding a castle BEC I'm just curious if anyone has any suggestions of how/where to mount or situation this combination of goodies as I'm scratching my head over it. I'd love to see any pics of other installations/mountings if you'll share. Thanks everyone, love the forum! |

I mounted my MMP up front just in front of where you have the battery on a Jevne Racing battery plate. That "box" could be what's hampering your mounting options. It looks like the MMP should fit, but you may need to cut out where the corners would be in the "box." Those panels looks sweet, though! |

i have my battery and rx in the front under the hood and my esc in the rear where the battery use to be. I extended the wires from front to back with zip ties. I will take pics later when i get home but so far that was the best i could do with my electronics

I'll try to get a couple pics of mine when I get home. Like I said...MMP up front and then all other electronics (rx, light controller, etc.) in a Radio Shack project box in the back. Will eventually try to paint it up as a fuel cell.

Thanks for the Pics. Yeah I'm wondering/worrying about having to extend wires and how that will work. I also have "da box" and "da tray" in the back as well. I just love how clean it all looks. So consensus would be to keep the battery up front? |

| Re: Where to mount ESC Yes, battery up front to keep the weight up there and keep that front end down during ascents. Being located near the firewall actually puts it fairly close to center.

I grabbed a radio shack box narrowed it to fit in back where batt was. Everything fits inside and just the battery is up front. I sealed it and painted. Made huge performance change with battery up front.

I mounted mine in the back much easier to add stuff up front this way....i have my battery up front and enough room to put a servo winch up front.....when i purchased my esc from another member it had a plate double sided to it with 2 screw holes took away my confusion of where to mount....And im gonna hide it with scqle goodies

Thanks guys. I like the "da box"s because I look at it as an extra layer of protection from mud and water. Do you think an MMP would get too hot if it was in the rear inside da tray and da cover?

I've read it will not when I built my sealed box.

| Re: Where to mount ESC As long as you don't run through water (I don't), you don't have to worry about it. If you are concerned about water, though, you could always treat the electronics with conformal coating to waterproof them. Harley has a good write-up & video on how to do that somewhere around here. |

I have everything mounted up front. It's about to be moved to a box I printed for the rear.
