Default "The Rocker" Weekend ground up rebuild

Since I have a yeti 480 and 380 I wanted to convert my Wraith from a basher to a crawler.

I picked up a bevy of goodies and starting Friday I went to town.

This is how she was before I started

Mamba Max Pro ESC W CC bec installed, Tekin 17.5 sensored brushless motor, Hobbico 333 oz. titanium geared servo, Hot Racing aluminum servo links, Traxxas big bore aluminum shocks, Axial aluminum knuckles & C-hubs, Axial heavy duty front CVD's, MIP front drive line, CKRC rear drive line,
Axial HD bevel gears, Robinson Racing tranny gears, FLM output gear
Hot Racing aluminum diff lockers, custom links made w/8-32 rod, custom front battery & ESC plates, 2.2 Pro-Line Chisels mounted on Axial beadlocks.

I installed the Werty bumper, gearhead droop kit and MS Tech fastback tire carrier.

Then I installed aluminum panels and axial light kit, I also made custom hinges for the hood and installed vanquish currie axles front and rear.

Installed MIP shafts front and rear.

Ordered Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL WaterProof esc, CrawlMaster Pro 540, cc bec and the rx bypass adapter.

Installed rc4wd king shocks, vanquish hexes, and hitec 9380 servo.

Installed front and rear da box, battery up front, esc, receiver and light controls in rear.

Cut the holes in the hood for the shocks, mounted up some super swampers, and installed vanquish titanium link kit.

I finished adding stickers, and since I didn't like the way the back tire was mounted, I installed a tire carrier I had sitting around to the fastback carrier.

I rounded off some of the edges to the aluminum. I installed an on off switch for the lights. I then started programming the esc/bec, making sure the lights worked I ran her around the block and yard and everything works great so far. Can't wait to get her out into some trouble.

I'm sure I missed something, it's been a long weekend but I think she turned out pretty damn cool.

110mm, so far so good but haven't really put it through the paces though. It's a heavy rig so I may play with the oil weight or throw stiffer shocks on. I want to stay away from the "bounce" that the big bores I had on it before had though.

I ordered me up some vinyl that I'm going to wrap all of my cars up in eventually.

Today I decided to wrap my original wraith body panels. I love how the aluminum panels with the stickers turned out, but I wanted to have my back up panels match the other cars I have.

First I cut the roof for the fast back mod, then cut the holes in the hood for the shocks and droop kit, finally I cut out the shapes in the vinyl material.

Next I applied all of the wraps to the panels.

Then I mounted all of the panels to the wraith.

I have the freqeskinz wrap on my yeti 380 which turned out nice, but I'll probably apply this new wrap to the 380 and 480 so all 3 are the same.

I dig it! What did you make your battery and receiver plates from? They look molded?

Thanks guys, just got weight rings and weights in for the front tires. I'll be throwing them in tonight.

It's called "da box". Here's the thread link on the forums to the front, back and back cover. Wraith Electronics box They work well but as you can see with the droop kits etc you have to do a lot of trimming. I almost went without them but I like the clean look from underneath.

Do you feel that the Super Swamper is better to crawl with compared to the Chisel? Or is it more the looks?

The chisels are super soft, and the foams I have in them are weak. The voodoos or swampers with the crawler innovation deuces in them are better.

I haven't been out to "crawl" yet, I plan on swapping out both voodoos and swampers to see which I like more while I'm out on a run.

Man that thing looks awesome. Especially parked next to the yeti.

How'd the badger wraith set up compare to the yeti?

My yeti is pretty much maxed out with hop ups and is a bashing machine So it's built more for speed and general rock racing. The wraith was set up for desert bashing but the yeti out performs it. Which is why I decided to go pure crawler route with the wraith.

The yeti has a wider and lower stance and the suspension eats up the terrain. The wraith had a lot more bounce in the suspension and higher center of gravity.
