I'm looking to swap the weak ballends of the OEM lower, AX30792, and upper, AX30791, links of my wraith. What's the correct Traxxas #ref that fit whit this links? |

I use traxxas #1942 ball ends for 3 mm thread inserts Amazon.com: Traxxas 1942 Rod End Set: Toys & Games and I use traxxas #5347 for 4 mm thread inserts Amazon.com: Traxxas 5347 Rod Ends with Hollow Balls Large Revo (12): Toys & Games I'm guessing you have the 3mm thread insert, 6mm OD link. I believe I needed to shorten the shank on the 1942 ball ends to maintain the factory established wheel base (link eye2eye lengths). Was still plenty of thread bite... razor knife works. Cut mine down to near the same shank length as the Axial originals. Used full length ball ends on my forward upper links... assisting in clocking the front axle a bit and I've never had one pull thread out or break on me. the # 5347 ball ends are from the Revo so they are a bit more stout. I personally see them as looking rather obtrusive on a 1/10 scale crawler. But there's no denying they're durable. I've had good luck using the #1942 ball ends on my SCX-10 Honcho. couple notes... * Don't over rotate threading the insert into the plastic ball end shank as it could cause distortion to the eye, possibly binding the ball. * realize a single package of # 5347 is not enough for completion. |
