Default Front axle shafts question

I'm trying to fix up a wraith that I broke the front axle on. I snapped the ball off the end of the driveshaft. I bought a used set of shafts off of a local guy and the shaft I got from him is longer than the one that was in my wraith.

Left is the broken one from my wraith, right is the one I bought used.

Did he sell me a different shaft from a different axial thinking it was the same or is my wraith got something weird in it? I want to get a set of universal shafts, but I don't want to shell out the money to have them not fit.

Maybe the new one is for an scx10? Just get a set of universals for a wraith. They will fit in your.... wraith.

Yup, get rid of the dog-bones and grab some universals: Axial Wraith Universal Set
Ten times stronger and a better turning radius!

Your Wraith is fine, that's an SCX10 dogbone and it's about 4-5mm longer than the short dogbone on the Wraith. A set of Wraith universals should fit without a problem.

Alright thanks, that's what I was looking for. I figured someone would know the relative lengths of the dogbones.

They turn 5 degrees less than the Axial uni's though. I use both and actually broke a VP stub shaft at the threads at Axailfest. They sent me new ones the next day though, Have to love VP customer service. The Axail uni's are great too.

I broke the ball on the end of a long side vp vvd and got sent a replacement as well.

Paying a little extra gets you that.
