Default Yet another rebuild, HK

So I decided to make some changes to my original Wraith, "99 Problemz."

I have dubbed the new version HK, Hunter Killer, since an exoskeleton is driving it.

I removed the rear steering, cut and chopped the cage, bent the cage with a heat gun, used the Exo Terra's rear shock mounts, installed Gearhead front droop shock mounts, etc...

I may even decide to go IFS on it.

I was, and still might, buy a Wertymade rear cage as I really like his work.

I did this mod to suffice while I awaited his unit to be fabricated.

I still need to finish putting her together, but here is what I did last night.

I just sold a set of wheels like that. Wish I would have kept them lol.

Great looking build with some cool mods.

Thank you. I saw a picture of a cage mod like this one so I thought WTH but, I needed to make it my own and improve on the structural integrity of it.

I really like the Gearhead rims. They are wide and heavy which helps with CG.

I will most likely run Voodoo U4 tires on them or even stretch a pair of KLR's onto 2.2 rimd when all is said and done.

I really like this version of the rear chop and those wheels are badass. Nice ingenuity with the Exo shock mount. Werty is building me a custom rear stinger cage as we speak and I'm super psyched to see it finished. I've got a couple of his bumpers on other rigs and really like his build style. Nice pile of parts you've got there Vengeance, keep it up.

Thank you for the kudos. I have been wanting to do something a little different for a while. I think deep down I wanted to have a "hotrod style" Wraith which the Gearhead rims seem to go with well.LOL

Werty's work/style reminds me of the coveted Boyer chassis back in the early 2000's/late 90's.

His welds are clean and his designs are truly scale imo.

Here is the interior going back into the rig, complete with glowing terminator eyes and working bluetooth speakers.

I am debating animation of the head and steering wheel/arms.

So the build is moving slowly along, mostly due to me adding details. LOL

I added another cross support for the rear shock mounts as well as one for the front Gearhead shock mounts.

The Exo style radiator and rear light's house has been fitted.

Need to do some paint work on the detail parts then plumb the electrical and do final assembly.

I haven't decided whether I am going to shave the tops off the front Gearhead shock mounts so I can close the hood all the way or slot the hood... Being that it is already painted I will most likely shave the mounts.

Here are some update images...

And a pic of my work area in the garage...

Yeah this thing just keeps getting better. Thanks for the seatbelt link. I've been wondering where guys were getting those from.

The seatbelt maker can make them in any color you want. Je made them for this Wraith and my Monster Energy Wraith.

LOL... So I only did this as a temporary setup until Wertymade finished my rear cage.

He wasn't even going to start it until around November 1st. Low and behold he finished it already.

However, now that I have started this project, I really like the way it is turning out so much I will be using the Wertymade rear cage on a different build.

Nice man, Werty just finished my rear cage too. Should be shipping to me tomorrow. Can't wait to see yours. He does great work and really works with you to make sure you like the direction the fabrication is taking. It's going on my 1.9 Wraith build.

He really exceeded my expectations... I had him set it up ao I could use the rear swaybarcas well as one of these rigs will go with front IFS eventually.

We may have to do a picture thread dedicated to Wertymade rigs.

Ok, so I made a little headway the last couple of days.

Took a stock SCX10 radio box, wrapped it in aluminum tape and added a Yeti fuel tank cap assembly.

Got the Exo rear light mounted along with the radiator.

Removed the old roof panel and rack, relocated the LED array and added the Exo roof panel.

Have a little painting to do, plumb the electrics then final assembly.

Not real sure I am sold on the fuel cell I did but I need the space for electronics.

Hood slotted and aged for Gearhead front shock mounts. That was nerve racking since I painted it over 2 years ago...

So been wiring the rig on and off the last couple of day.

It has taken a little longer due to some changes to my plan, last parts coming in tonight.

Good news is the drivetrain and chassis are once again mated up.

Thank you...

LOL, yeah every build I tell myself I am going to cut back on the wiring, and every build I break that promise to myself.

This rig even has a bluetooth sound system I stream to from my phone. Gawd I need to get a life.

I am still deciding whether or not to reinstall the gauge lighting I originally had in the truck when I built its first incarnation.
