Default King Shocks

I just bought 100mm king shocks. Any opinions on them and should I have gone with the 110mm ones. Thank you

Opinion? Look great, perform rubbish at anything faster than 4mph
Should have bought traxxas alloy big bore Slash rears.

you can get some better performance if you sand down the pistons a little and put a washer on top to cover some of the holes in the piston.

I replaced the lower o-rings with sc10 shock o-rings. They are a little thicker seal better, and offer a little more resistance on the shaft. Also running 50wt oil. They handle way better. And my rig weighs a bit over 10lbs.

Locktite the bottom eyelet onto the shaft, they come apart and you will lose a spring or the bottom retainer. I run in sand a lot here in florida and it will jam up the center shock collar between the springs and not move. Mine hold oil ok, better than the axial icons do. They look really cool and they work good for crawling I think but the collar getting jammed up is a deal breaker. People tell me to grind out the inside of the collar but for a $100 set of shocks I shouldnt have to do anything.I will run these until I lose a part or they need a rebuild and I will buy some traxxas big bores.

If u use wraith rods with the king Pistons and put the little flat washer on each side of the piston it turns it into a pretty nice useable shock. And as stated locktight the bottom. I ran them on my u4 wraith and was amazed how well they worked.

I don't know the part number, but its.just a team associated sc10 shock rebuild kit. The inner diameter is 3mm, but it's outer diameter is a little bit thicker than the king shock o-ring so when it seats into the shock it's a tighter sqeeze. It puts a little more resistance on the shock shaft and keeps it from leaking out. 50wt gives me a nice rebound. I can drop the rig from a few feet and it won't bottom out.

you can replace the center spring retainer with the one from an SCX10 shock...slides a little better because its plastic. 110s are too long for a wraith IMO so you made the right call with 100s

For what it's worth....I have king 110's on my Wraith and I actually really like them. But I do also have lowering brackets all around, so it actually sits like a normal wraith (with the shocks almost halfway compressed) but when it flexes the shocks extend a bit farther. I really like it for crawling, but its not so great at speed as you can imagine!

Just my $0.02!
