Default Which motor?

I'm running a Novak ballistic 550 3700kv right now and want a little more power and better startup. It's hooked to a mamba monster x and an ax2 transmission. My options so far are the roc 412 3100kv, pro4 hd 3500kv, HH puller pro 3500kv, and the HH puller pro xl 3500kv. Which should I go with?

Some good options there. Personally - I'd go the Pro4.

I would go roc 412 or hh puller pro regular awesome startup.
If your looking mostly more power over startup go with the hh xl.

Does the pro4 hd have a smooth startup?

Do NOT get a Holmes XL if your looking for smooth startup. I've had that motor and while it's not completely incapable of crawling it is best suited for very heavy or go fast rigs only.

Are you running it on 3s?

I have a roc412 3100 in my wraith and a pro4hd 4300 in my bomber, my opinion, I think the roc412 is a great all around motor regardless of gearing while the pro4 doesn't seem to be all that impressive without being geared for speed. I am running a MMX on the roc412 and an RX8 g2 on the pro4, 2s normally on both, but sometimes 3s on the roc412. I run 12/93 and underdrives on the wraith, and 15/64 std on the bomber. Adding the 2 speed with high gear soon on the bomber as well.

Well I ordered the roc412 3100kv. I'm sure I will be happy with my choice.

I know you all will think I am nuts but I am running a Mamba Max Pro with a 4600kv 4pole brushless from Castle. It has so much wheel speed and torque. It also has a surprisingly quick top speed. I put a heat sink and fan on the motor, I tweeked the punch on the ESC. I know its not an ideal crawling motor but it will get the vehicle up stairs from a stand still. I also dropped it down with the YR shock relocation kit. Put the Hot Racing sway bar on the back and its quite a quick runner with the Hatchet MT's from Duratrax.

Well I got the tekin roc412 installed tonight and I am very pleased with my choice. It has a lot more torque and low end control than the Novak I was running before. I am amazed at how much power this little motor creates.
