| Holmes Hobbies BR-XL ESC
Curious what everyone's opinion is on those ESC's. I saw they were listed in Harley's beginners guide. I wish I had found that guide before I bought a bunch of stuff for my Wraith when I was building it from a kit. It has a Novak Timbuk2 esc with Ballistic 13.5 sensored brushless motor currently. Runs really well, but if I ever had to replace it, wondering how those BR-XL's run. Also getting a crawler for my son soon so looking into options for electronics. |

Awesome... Going to pick up one of the ESC's and a motor to go with it. Looks like a great combo! The Wraith was my first kit after I got into RC with my first basher. The Wraith, knowing what I know now, I wish I would've done more research. After I got it built and the body painted all I could think was "Electronics time! Lets go to the store and buy whatever the hell I get pitched!". Oh well, at least its running lol... Anyway thanks for the comment and definitely going to stick with Holmes for my crawlers... On a side note, when I went to the site all I could think was "Wouldn't it be cool if there was a show on DIY called Holmes on Hobbies?" |

I started with Tekin, and it was alright. Broke a few. However, Holme's stuff is made for this hobby. It's not dirt track stuff with a different package. Last edited by MRCrackhead; 09-06-2017 at 05:54 AM. |

Definitely picking a combo up once I have some extra cash laying around. The built in BEC (amongst everything else) sold it for me. Thanks for the input! Looks like I'm going to upgrade the electronics sooner than later.. its a good thing though!

I run the BR-XL esc and a puller pro in my Wraith. Great combo. Awesome torque and pretty good wheel speed. I geared down per Holmes recommendation to keep things from getting to hot. Very happy with the set up so far and lot's of "tuneability" with Castle Link.
