Default Axial Wraith torque twist

I have an Axial Wraith and absolutely love it. My only thing I have been trying to solve is how to get rid of the torque twist because of the way the motor is mounted. Also if I was to put a sensored brushless system in it what motor would be good? What would be comparable to my Holmes Hobbies crawlmaster 13 turn?

You can put hobbywing bandit(g10) 17,5t with sway bar... Thats what I run now...

Use heavy duty underdrive diff gears to combat torque twist. Some people put UD gears front and rear. I use UD rear and standard ratio up front to get better climbing and steering performance.

A rear sway bar will also help but may limit suspension travel somewhat.

In another thread someone suggetsed the ssd transmision, That and changing the diff gears sounds like
it might be what you want. (I`m still a noob so read up on it)

I read that somewhere as well. If you install the SSD high ratio transmission, then install the under drive gears in the axles you can reduce the twist at the chassis while keeping the lower wheel speed.

I have the SSD in my rig, its a nice piece of kit. I'm going for more of a U4 set up with my Wraith, so I was looking for more speed. It was money well spent. The added benefit it that it replaces some of the plastic gears with metal for overall drive train toughness.

Tranny gears really aren't going to make a difference IMO, it's really all the in the axle reduction. More axle reduction=driveshaft torque is more easily transmitted to the ground rather than into twisting the axle.

That said I've run both underdrive gears in the just the rear and in both ends and neither are particularly amazing at reducing the twist. My research suggests asymmetrical vertical separation of the upper links is what will really combat the torque twist, just need some adjustable upper link mounts, such as this. Is it possible for you to elaborate on this theory you have. Are you talking about raising one upper link above the other one? Thanks in advance

OP, why not just run another Holmes Hobbies motor, specifically the four pole puller pro models in prob the 3300 kv range. I love mine

I also have this issue, but I am running Castle Brushless on 3s. I stiffened shock on one side, it definitely helped but I gave up a little handling in the process.

I went from the AE-5 w/ Crawlmaster 13T to a Holmes Puller Pro stubby 3300kv with a Holmes BLE. It's night and day difference. I was running a 12t pinion (32p) and dropped it down to a 9t on the Puller Pro. The rig is faster on 2S than the Crawlmaster was on 3S AND it crawls smoother and slower. I'm probably going to up it to a 10t for even more trail fun. Highly recommended.

I'm running the same with a 11T and love wheel speed with the torque for creeping over objects. Seems to be a great set up and so far haven't noticed any twist.

Overdrive will help, putting the shock ring down on the rear right spring will help. Raising the rear upper suspension links on the transmission side will help. Changing to a high pinion axle will help. Going to a portal will almost eliminate it.

I am running a Holmes Hobbies Trail Pro 3300 with MambaX. I am running 3s put will be giving 4s a shot probably this weekend. I have upgraded diffs gears, metal drive shafts but not sure if their are plastics or metal gears in the trans.

The Link Riser from DLUX changes the anti-squat ratio in the rear enough to settle the 1.9 down nicely w/o necessitating the use of a sway bar. $9 part and simple install, even on SSD axles that it's not supposed to fit. The rig will happily lift any tire now without immediately turtling.
