Default Battery recommendation for XR10

About to pre-order my XR10 (first crawler) and I'm having a tough time figuring out what battery I should order. It's not as clear as off road racing.

Could you guys please post some links for me to consider? I really just need a good starting point as I can order more batts later. Don't want to waste my money on a batt I'll never use attain though. Please show me the good stuff.

Thanks!

Just grab some 3S 800-1300mAh Lipo's. More cells or mAh and the pack is to big to fit in the stock XR.
But make sure that your ESC can handle 3S.

I agree with Omikron99. But it is very important to get a high C rating. I have found that something with around a 40 amp max constant will work fine with 45T motors. So for examples you're talking an TP 850mah 45c, Hyperion 1100 mah 35c or Rhino 1050 mah 40c.

Thanks for the tips but I've searched amainhobbies, rpphobby, stormerhobbies, and towerhobbies for all three of those and haven't found a single product listing. Where do you get these batteries?

Oh wait - Rhino == Hobby King. Duh.

Found the TP batts on some random RC site too. All good now.

Thanks, guys.

I will never order another battery from HK again, more times then not they have come built crappy. And it takes like 5 weeks to get them.

Try these.

The MaxAmps are cheaper than I thought and this pack fits and is on sale. I think I'll pick up one of these and the smaller 850mah. I've always had good luck with MaxAmps even though they're a little pricey.

Picked up a couple of Rhinos also - just for the hell of it. They were super cheap.

I run 2S 800mAh 40C Rockamp on 2 17.5T BL sets. It works nicely and adds enough punch to it. Currently stock pinions but IŽll reduce the rear to a 13, as most seem to do it right now.
