Default Front axle clicking

Just got my XR together took it out for it's first run and the front axle is clicking under load and not turning. Same if I use the front dig but not all the time just under a heavy load. Took everything back apart and can't see any physical damage. I tighten the 4 screws that hold the two axle halves together and have the self tapped screws just about stripped from tightening them so tight. Do you think it's the two axle halves seperating under load and letting the final gear skip on the axle gear?

Check to make sure all your bearing are smooth. Also make sure your bearings are seated and make sure all your bolts that hold your gear case together are close to the same torque

I had the same issue yesterday, after a tear down, inspection, re-grease, no more clicking from the front axle.

It could have been that I did not have every thing as tight as it should have been.

I'm thinking I got lucky not breaking anything.

Check the pinion gear .. It may be a little high on the shaft of the motor and the grub screw could be hitting a gear... Causing clicking sound.. Mine was built to spec and still the pinion needed to be lowered to avoid the gear issue..

I did the same and looks like the noise went away also. Must of not had something tight or right.
Thanks for everyone's help.

I'm not getting a clicking, but I am getting a slight whiring sound from the front now. I plan to take a peak inside before the next time out. Still runs fine, I'm just worried about the noise. I've also lost my nervousness about running it hard...if it was going to break, it would have by now.
