Default Cheap easy wheel weights

Here's any easy weight set up for the plastic XR10 wheels that use Vanquish weights. 5/8" set screw/plug 1/2" long weighs .5 0z , 1" long weigh .95 oz thread them in to any desired depth and they stay no retainer needed. Plus they were only a buck $ 1 a piece

Nice I never thought of something like that. I was going the get some .50 cal shells and melt lead into them, but that is a much cleaner way to wieght these whaals.

Pretty creative idea! did you cut any of the retainer for the slugs off the back the wheel to get the one inch long ones in?

Didn't have too cut any of the back retainer off , and it puts the face of the set screw level with the outer ring .

Thanks

Got ya! Yea didn't think you did by the pics but needed to ask. I wonder if you could a little just to set them in further. Don't know about room around the knuckle though.

Not to sound stupid here, but you are using discharged cartridges correct????? I wouldn't want to be anywhere near your crawler if they were live rounds. A fire or a tumble in just the right spot could discharge the round.

I concure, it sounds like he is using live rounds Being that he is talking about the grain.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that....... Wow. Glad I'm not crawling with that guy....

If he used the empty brass and filled it with plumbers solder or lead, it may be a bit safer.

just the bullet people

there are 4 parts to a cartridge
casing (brass)
bullet (little part that can kill you)
powder
primer
put together they make a round or cartridge
grains is a unit of weight measurement mostly used for powder and projectile when reloading.primers cant go off with heat only pressure
1oz=480gr
8x200gr=3.33oz

i will put up a pick soon looks cool

Thanks for clearing that up. A live cartridge would be a VERY poor choice for wheel weights.

The fact that you stated you were running Bullets in your wheels was enough to raise concern. Now, to most people a bullet is a bullet, Not a part of a cartridge. How many people do you hear say, "Hey, lets go to the gun shop and get some cartridges for my handgun" Most people call them bullets....

Now if you had stated that you were just running the LEAD from the "BULLET" you would have cleared things up in a hurry. But to word things the way you did and then call me "IGNORANT" for saying something...
And YES, A Cartridge/Bullet will "cook off" at high temperatures.

Sorry for jacking your thread up like this Tom.

BTW: Your idea for the weights is damn cool! You gonna bring that beast to the ISC??
