Tried that too. You need to clock your motor too high with a straight link which puts your servo horn down lower in front - no way, I don't need that. And clocking your motor up that high raises your Center of Gravity - don't need that either That's why I made this link from 1/4 steel round stock. Chose steel so it won't gouge like aluminum. My measurement after bends is 147.5mm - bare link end to end (Not eye to eye) Measures 180mm eye to eye w/ bends and revo ends w/ V.P. I like the bent link alot...I'm a bit confused about how short yours is??? Is 147.5mm before or after you bent it??

Heres mine (its rolled up in the pick then sits down inside while turning. If I remember (I can check later) mine was 5.75" before the threads. |

i love bacon! titanium is nice too. but bacon gets my vote. maybe a link with longer threads and one side reverse threaded like a turnbuckle. and jato ends. just to keep it tunable.

I really want to do this mod for my XR. I'm worried about messing it up though because it is pretty much irreversible short of buying a new axle housing. Has there been any problems with the straight link hanging up on rocks? |

the lunsford links are threaded like a turnbuckle so you could technically adjust it while on the vehicle...the only thing that would make it easier is if it had a hex to use a wrench on...but then "that might hang up on a rock"

(Not 100% reversible since you can buy a new housing) And no, it doesn't get hung up on the rocks. Thats why I used steel versus aluminum so it would slide over rocks versus gouging and dragging. Last edited by Rig Rocker; 11-10-2010 at 08:25 PM.

I tried a 140mm ti link from lunsfor with Jato ends and it is still a little short. I think 145mm would work if you keep it striaght and might need 150mm or longer if you want bends.

So I'm not sure why it hasn't been posted yet but the measurement eye to eye should be right at 177mm. Is that what you guys have?

Used traxxas revo toe links #5338 with jato rod ends and added a small bend and cut stock link slot off back of axle. |

Lunsford 140mm link with 4mm jato ends fits great.

Lunford doesn't measure their links eye to eye they measure total length and give you an estimate of how much is threaded. The problem I have seen in pics with the 140mm link + jatos is it looks like there is very little thread engagement in the jato rod end and that is a severe weak link, I have popped a few jatos on my super with a lot of engagement and would be very worried to run that setup. I have a feeling a vendor here will be producing these soon though! |

Then all you need is revo ends and your set !! I think a straight link would be best so you can still get FULL throw from your knuckles..
