What size and diameter of material is being used? Where do I get the tap set need for the rod ends? Looking for more info on delrin bending also. A local hardware store has delrin rod but it seems flimsy is there certain kinds or what? Do you heat it up to bend it? Some starting points on lengths and bends would be great too. I have a xr10 all stock for now. Any links would be appreciated. Forgive the questions I am a crawling/link building n00b. Jared |

I use 3/8" delrin for my lowers and 5/16" delrin for my uppers. I usually just drill and tap the delrin and then use 25mm set screws in each end for the rod ends and that works fine, i have never had one break. If you want to, just for safety, you can drill the delrin all the way through (with a lathe) and use a peice of 4mm or 8-32 threaded rod full length. As far as bending the delrin, i just heat it with a heat gun and bend it... then hold it until it cool... I usually do this with a fixture using a wood board and wooden dowels. It make them easy to duplicate. BTW, A lot of guys are using steel or titanium for their links which also works great... I just dont care for the look of tiny diameter links... I like the big, beefy look of 3/8" delrin links. Either one works just fine... to each his own. Last edited by Trugg; 11-26-2010 at 08:19 PM. | |

I prefer 3/8" delrin for my lowers, and 1/4" aluminum rod for uppers All with revo or jato ends |
