Default AZrcdriver's gone MOA

Well I gave in to the pressure and ordered parts for my first MOA.
I have had great luck with my LCC but it was time to try something else.

Here is the parts list ordered so far:

Axial
Axial XR 10
AX30434 XR10 Stage 3 Aluminum Hi-Clearance Links Kit
AX30223 Spring 14x70mm 1.04 lbs/in - Black
AX30569 Pinion 48P 14T – Steel
AX30571 Pinion 48P 13T – Steel

Vanquish
Vanquish Products XR-10 Motor Plates
VP DH ProComp Hex Spacers 460
VP DH ProComp Hex Spacers 585
VP XR-10 Incision Steering Knuckles Silver
VP XR-10 Incision Chubs Silver
VP XR-10 Incision Lockouts Silver

Misc.
2- Castle Mamba Micro Pros
2- Team Integy V11 35t Professional Rock Crawler Motor
Hobbico CS-170 Servo (until I upgrade to bigger)
Spektrum SR300 3-Channel DSM Sport Surface Receiver
wantAsummit Dual ESC adapter (was first thing ordered)
SS solid steering arm from Chaotic Crawlers

Still have a few things to get yet and my motors are my starter motors to learn with before I upgrade to something like Broods.

I have my VP DH's and will most likely order a couple pair of SLW's to fit on the rear and my Boss Claws of course.

I am also going to start with the stock chassis for now but may go bodiless with the V4 from y-town.

More to come...

That's a nice laundry list, I think you're going to like it. I'd suggest running Losi golds. They are softer than the axial blacks, even though the numbers say otherwise.

I have the Golds on my Comp Crawler right now so I can always swap them around a bit but I thought I would try the Axial based on the numbers they listed.

Here is most of the parts that I picked up on Friday.
It is one quick way to lighten a bank account.

And here is part of the progress made so far.

thats because spring rate goes per inch and the losi's are an inch shorter

Not true both springs in question are 4" I posted a video of them side by side on a losi shock board

So how are you guys figuring your spring rate info??

You are saying the losi gold springs are softer even though the rate is higher than the Axial blacks?

What did you use to determine this? Just curious...

hmm no. Springs are rated at how much force it takes to compress them 1". So it should take two different forces to push each spring down one inch.

I think out of the pack they are the same but broken in I think the golds are softer and I have heard from others that agree. Here is a little test I did....then Thread jack OFF

Ok, so after a delay for the game here is where it sits right now.

I pulled my VP DH's off my LCC and did a quick hub change.

I still have no idea where I want to start for setup yet.

No, I kind of slowed down a bit trying to figure out the electronics layout.

Thanks to Smokey I made a trip at lunch for wire loom to make it all look nice I hope.

Once I get it figured out and go over to use Burgie's soldering iron to start getting it all connected up.

I also have no idea what to paint it yet...

I was shooting to have it done for Sunday but I'm not sure.

No, new pics yet maybe tonight.

I programmed to BEC and Mamba Micro Pros and I got started on putting the wiring together.
I tried to get a start on body paint but I was having spray issues, I think my little compressor may be dying out.

Due to time issues the body won't be anything fancy.

Also...note to self, motors are easier to solder when not mounted on finished roller.

Ok, got it done...(for now) anyways. Took a bit more than I thought for the last bit.

The wiring is not set perfect as I may be changing chassis soon so I didn't get it 100% and I need to shorten a few wires up.

Here it as of today...ready to run in the morning for our club comp (I think).

Now to figure out weight and setup changes.

A quick trip to the scales and it's at 6.38 lbs right now, seems a bit heavy compared to others. (rig, battery, body)
