Default Rear axle play?

Just put together my Xr10 rear axle and there is lots of side to side play, about 1/8 inch. Is this normal?

yes it is, butt people have found some shims the right size and shimmed them, i really see wear that would be a big problem.

Do what you want. I'm OCD and it bothered me when I felt it on the bench, so I put some shims in. If you have some laying around put them in.

Ok thanks for the info. So it will not affect the strength of the axle in regards to premature failure?

No, just annoying to me. They made a clunk noise when I had them unshimmed.

I didn't shim, got a little play, no problem to me. It's all personal preference.

Anyone have a part number for the shims that will fit the axle?
