Default T3rry's Money pit-Ever Evolving-Team Plastic Truck - UGC Viper inspired Custom VP10

I figured it was about time i make a build thread... i have had my XR since they came out, but never gotten around to making a thread, but here it is.

My current build:
XR10
UGC Viper Chassis - Custom Carbon Fiber cab
Vanquish wheels
HPI Grabbers
Crawler Innovations 2 stage foams
Vanquish front Chubs and steering knuckles
Custom delrin steering rod
Custom high lift delrin lower links
Custom delrin upper links
All revo/jato rod ends
Modified Losi 4" shocks, with gold springs on the front and whites on the rear, limited with fuel tubing
Vanquish Transmission cases and bearings
RC4WD hardened gears
Vanquish motor plates
Vanquish Knuckle weights

Powered by:
Dual MMP
Team Brood 35t Motors
Hitec 7950
4pl
3s 460MaH Turnigy Nano-tech

New things on the way:
None, What??!?!??!?

Things that have been in my truck but are no longer:
Integy v11 35t motors
Stock chassis with "the hawk" bodiless topper.
Novak M2
Novak 55t motors
Traxxas Link RX/TX
Dx3e RX/TX
Turnigy Servo (lasted about 6 months and then died)
Stock stuffs

So, on to the pics:

Current setup first:

here's some updated shots of my truck, i will also add them to the first post, went back to lexan panels, just much lighter than the stainless i was using, i also cut a custom CF cab from 2mm carbon fiber sheet, more curved for easier rollovers, i also rebuilt all of my links from 1/4 delrin sheet, moved the cab back to center a bit more.

Drove the crap out of the truck this weekend, got my best finish ever, 2nd place out of 19, i am very happy with that.

The panels are "team plastic truck" a dig at the berg guys they started calling our trucks plastic trucks, so we embraced it and took it for our own

on to the pics

Stainless steel panels, .008 on the sides and .010 on the top and hood, it's a bit heavier than .030 lexan, but i love the look, and the durability should be superb

Older pics

Previous setups

OLD STUFF

Originally i did have it normal with a body, but i cant find any pics, i will post them later if i do locate any.

Oil Jugs....

Showin off my newly modified Losi Shocks

And my freshly bent crazy high lift rear links

This is my original bodiless setup, made the panels out of a rubbermaid bucket, simply because that's what i had laying around

I use the Rovers but the Grabbers are THE tire at Ted. I think the drawbacks that the Grabbers have are filler by the Rovers and vice versa. You give up something to gain others.
Terry's rig has been running very well. I believe he is still in the running for our winter points series hosted in Ted's Garage with it in the sportsman class.

I was looking at the Grabbers as a tire to use, but my bossclaws and Sadonas are what is working for me at the moment.

yeah, grabbers are the tire of choice at Ted's, some guys deviate, but they always come back (right Scott :P )

Not quite. I do have a brand new set of them at home, but I'm happier with the Rovers.

I haven't tried Sedona's but some guys have. Not for long. We also have one guy that run's everything Losi and the Boss Claws are a part of that. I tried them and for in the Garage, I ditched them. But he still runs them.

doesn't Ryan run a mismatched set, i think grabbers in the front and sedonas in the back.

Yeah he does. I thought they were Rovers but haven't really looked. They could very well be Sedona's.

Installed my Vanquish plates and rc4wd gears yesterday, this thing sounds very beefy now... i have much more confidence in it now... hoping it's borderline indestructible now.

i also relocated the battery tot he front axle, not sure if i like that big brick up there, but i can easily move it back.

moved the battery back off the axle, the truck just didn't handle right like that... also got my Vanquish knuckle weights installed, they are a beautiful piece of machining. the tolerances are perfect.

That's what I did, but never actually ran the hawk setup.

here are some pics w/o out body... i think i am still gonna limit the front shocks a bit... but i am very happy with how the new links turned out, got lots of travel, very smooth.

and stuffed in the bottom of the chassis is my dual MMP, BEC, and receiver
